May 18, 20233 yr Over .500! Another 1 run win! Good outing from Ed - still some improvements to be made but good showing today. Now do it again in five days. Soler! Yay!

May 18, 20233 yr MLB.com posted an article saying that the current standings are actually wrong lmao, mentioning the Marlins being wrongly listed in the NL East standings. The Marlins can never have anything good. 2nd place, over .500 in mid May, better than the Mets and Phillies... but pay no attention to that BECAUSE IT'S A MISTAKE!!!

ESPNs latest power rankings still has the Cardinals at 17th overall or something and the Marlins at 22nd lulz
May 18, 20233 yr I guarantee you that article came up because someone at MLB.com was like "Hey this says the Marlins are in 2nd place, is this a typo? Someone get this fixed!"

To be fair, the article wasn't specifically about the Marlins/NL East. It was about "upsets" in the standings in all divisions vs. projections.

Right.......I'm just saying you made it sound like they went out of their way to write an article specifically to trash the Marlins (which I would believe), when in reality, it was an article talking about a team/teams in every division over- or under-performing vs. projections. And in the NL East, naturally that's us lol. That said, they did go out of their way to call out the "unsustainable" 14-1 record in 1-run games and likely crash because of that.
May 18, 20233 yr This whole season has been fascinating. Pretty much every big free agent pitcher that signed has either been awful or hurt. There are some surprise teams, both good and bad. The team with with the worst record in the National League, has a positive run differential. They also play in the Central Division which are in both leagues just fucking god awful divisions, so they have a legit chance to make the playoffs still. There are going to be 3 wild card teams from both leagues that come from the West/East coasts. The Central in both Leagues are going to be fortunate that the division champion is forced to join the postseason tournament.

May 18, 20233 yr Back to the Fishies.... Any chance they can get Soler to agree to a contract extension this spring/summer?

May 18, 20233 yr They'd need to turn that option year into a multi-year deal for him to think about it. But yeah no chance he is taking the option if he keeps anything close to this pace up.
