Just a perfect example of being a little too analytics driven. Lots of managers are guilty of this in today's game. Hopefully Skip learns from it.

That said, you're not wrong.  Our offense has been ass this series. Let's just hope its a quick slump. The pitching doesn't get any easier in Seattle.

I agree. A lot of people are quick to jump on Skip for pulling him. And while he was ultimately the one who made the call as it’s his responsibility. I also feel like baseball has definitely become too analytical sometimes. So perhaps these things are decided ahead of time by managers, pitching coach and even GM for all we know. Basically “third time through the order pull him no matter what.”

Maybe I’m just very old fashioned but when the whole Sabermetrics thing started, I feel like teams are taking data to the very extreme. Sad, because it doesn’t take into account days like today when Garrett has great stuff, and a good pitch count still. Could have gone another inning at least, but no because the data says that he will automatically without fail start to suck at this part of the game, better pull him out now and not take thst Chance. That’s why I miss the old school type of managers like Jack McKeon, Dusty Baker, Lou Pinella. They would have left Garrett in until the 8th inning prob. And prob would have won. 😂

You guys rip Skip for staying with guys too long and for taking guys out too soon. Robert is their most dangerous hitter, and Chargois had been great, so I’m not too critical of the move.

Plus, Garrett has pitched like 113, 120, 127 innings the last 3 years and he’s at 63 through today, so it’s reasonable to not over-extend him.

Also, the offense has been garbage.

The thing is that it was an easy choice. Brax was cruising along. He had just struck out the first batter of the inning and only needed two more outs.  It's his job to have the pulse of the game. Taking Brax out with that pitch count when he was dominating wasn't warranted.
