It was an interesting series. We could have easily swept them in the end but they also could have just as easily swept us. I'm thrilled at a series win and going out on a high note to the Emerald City.

The ump was consistent. Consistently terrible all game.

It's kinda ... both? Better *and* worse somehow. Missing more calls per game but accuracy is up. It's weird.

This Marlins team is really different and Skip don't pulls Braxton for NO REASON again.

I'm pretty sure if we went back year by year you could find multiple posts each year saying they were worse than the year before.

He's on pitch count limits right now but they do need to let him stretch out a bit here and there with short leashes. 80 pitches? Ok start the next inning and go until a baserunner occurs.

I feel like it's been worse this year than in previous years. However,  I think having the pitch tracker box in the screen makes missed calls a lot more obvious.  I don't recall how far back they started using that in the broadcasts, but I'm sure missed calls weren't that obvious back then. 

I'm old enough to remember when they would tell us that the  CF camera well wasn't always lined up perfectly with home plate in some stadiums, so it would make some calls seem worse than they were.  LOL  Now we know for sure.  Umpires strike zones suck for the most part.

We all could tell that was a rather generous zone for Livan in the NLCS in 1997 though 😂

 

 

Also, guys have a lot more movement and throw away harder now than in olden times and there's only so much the human eye is capable of doing so I'm sure that also comes into play a lot in making literally hundreds of split second decisions in every game. Gross, I was just trying to defend the umps there.
