June 11, 20233 yr So I went back to watch how the game ended and holy hell did that ump absolutely abuse the shit out of the strike zone for Soler's last at bat. Threw him five straight balls yet the count was full lol. It was an interesting series. We could have easily swept them in the end but they also could have just as easily swept us. I'm thrilled at a series win and going out on a high note to the Emerald City.

Lets not forget how bad those 2021 and 2022 teams actually were, with guys like Adam Duvall, Isan, Jesus Aguilar, Alex Jackson, Alfaro, Miguel Rojas and Avi playing everyday, also Jesus Sanchez either hurt or playing terribly. Horrible bullpen that couldn’t keep leads all the time with guys like Bass and Bender and Pop and others. And while this team isn’t built perfect either (Segura, lack of proper SS, inconsistent catcher or very least too much playing time for Stallings),this season so far as has been quite a breath of fresh air after a lot of rough years of Marlins games. 😂 Edited June 12, 20233 yr by SirFishFan

If they can take both the Seattle and Nats series that would be amazing. That Seattle series is gonna be tough to win.

Luzardo, Cabrera and Perez back to back to back. Three of the Marlins most exciting young pitchers. I have a feeling it’s going to be fun. And if Garrett can keep pitching like he did today, and with Sandy Alcantara hopefully getting back on track. This rotation has the potential to be the most exciting starting 5 that the Marlins have had in decades.. even if Rogers eventually replaces Perez, that’s still a great rotation. Maybe the most exciting since ‘04 when they had Beckett, Willis, Pavano, Penny and AJ Burnett or 2006 starting rotation with all those rookies.

Yep Mike Jacobs was my favorite Marlins player during those years when he was here. So I was especially excited when I caught one of his HRs back in 2006! Still one of my if not my all time favorite memories at a Marlins game!

It’s funny, just today during the game I was thinking about Scott Olson and how Braxton Garrett reminded me of him with all those inside and low sliders to the right handed batters. Maybe they aren’t super similar, but having a lanky left handed pitcher who can show some moments of greatness, pretty similar to Olson. Hopefully, Garrett can keep it up. And from what I’ve seen, Garrett seems to be a bit more even keeled personality wise than Olson. So maybe like an improved Olson 2.0 for the new generation. 😂
