Get a catcher who can call a game.  They shouldn't have been throwing first pitch fastballs the second time around. I agree with Gaby.  Fortes game calling sucks.

All in all a decent a start for Eury considering he hasn't pitched much in a month. Homeruns are going to happen.  Especially in this band box of a stadium.  It was the back-to-back walks in the 3rd that really hurt.

I think Brant Brown is doing a good job.  He's turned Sanchez and DLC into productive major leaguers. You can only do so much with the talent you're given.

Paul needs to stop complimenting players.  Every time he does, they end up doing something bad.  #shutupSevy

Yeah I was going to say something to this effect. At what point do we stop blaming the hitting coach and start looking at who is on the field?

It's basically been this way even through the Stanton years, save 2016 & 2017.

It's almost a carbon copy of the 2015 team. Had so many hits and a high average but so low in runs scored. As has been shown for at least the last two decades and probably longer - OBP is much more important.

 

Team has really no approach at the plate. It gets into the strike zone and they feel like they have to swing, even if it's 2-0, when the approach needs to be to only swing if it's something they believe they can do damage with.
