Like I said yesterday, I don't know how the team finds pants large enough to fit the entire team's horse cocks.

Eury struggled, but the bullpen kept things close enough for us to get back into it. AJ Puk, heck of an outing.

Gurriel leadoff double, an infield single from Fortes, a Jazz walk, Bell put the ball in play and we got two runs because of it, Arraez the game tying triple, and the Burger delivered the cheese to win it.

Our starting pitching has really shit the bed, huh.. This is unsustainable...I just don't know what is more unsustainable, our terrible string of pitching or our unlikely offensive bursts

It's a mix of younger arms hitting their inning ceilings this year and teams just seeing more and more on them now.

Eury's shut down was, of course, handled ... rather poorly. Although if we had just been at .500 since the break he's probably still slowly working his way back up.

That's what worries me. It's not a funk but rather the pitchers getting tired. You can't really fix that until the off-season. Sandy returning to Cy Young form will help, but we need Brax, Luzardo and Eury to dig deep and get through it.

We need Ed to figure his shit out too. Maybe call up Montverde for some starts. Hope Cueto holds up a bit.

It's *doable* but it will be difficult.

Bell: .310/.396/.643/1.039

Burger: .317/.391/.488/.879

What upgrades over Coop and Segura. Kim killing it.

We may never lose again.

But they got worse at the deadline!

Anyone remember when some fans gave up the night of the actual deadline even though the new acquisitions hadn't arrived even though the trades were already official? That was an all time moment for me.

Yea we absolutely gotta figure out the starting pitching issue cuz that feels like the biggest issue. Not sure how to do that but I think we just gotta buy one day or at least one series at a time. So basically yea we've shit the bed after the all star break but we've hung around enough to be within a playoff spot and look at that we hit mid August with a spot intact. One day at at time, can't abandon hope after a bad few games. Just gotta push a little harder to say we've survived that tough August schedule.

How's our playoff odds? I saw something on MLB saying how our odds have fallen from mid 70s to mid 30s percentage wise. Yet today we end the day holding a spot. Those playoff odds percentages can fluctuate so much literally each day, it's almost stupid to even look at it. Just win, take care of business, peek at the standings, and move forward each day.

46.9% on FanGraphs.

I assume they factor in the strength of remaining schedule

Sure but to my point, so we gained like 10% just by today's results. It can fluctuate so much that you almost can't care about it cuz anyone this morning could have said oh those damn Marlins only have 30% odds, yet look what happens hours later. I'd assume we could even have like 50-60% odds in a day or two? It's silliness.
