August 16, 20233 yr If you wanna harp on the negative fine but this game also showed you the good things Jazz can do too, he had one bad play which was a total fuck up, absolutely. He also tripled, singled, stole a base, scored a run and made a fantastic catch in center. You take the good with the bad with him. I'm still happy he's on my team because he makes us better. He is not the reason we lost this game.

He also messed up a throw before that play but I agree with you and he’s been good in cf all year. my concern is if he doesn’t get that k rate down he’s going to only ever be a generally above average player rather than the super star he thinks he is and prob could be

Skip made an attempt at a pinch hitter who had good numbers vs Pressly. It was also a situation where there was only one out and no chance for a double play. I didn't hate that move. The Marlins play 9 innings and like 50 things happen to lead to the result of the play and some of you love to just find the one specific play that makes your point of blaming a specific person and then that's all you wanna focus on. I wouldn't say pinch hitting Avi there is the thing that lost us the game. It's not like that was the only situation that happened. Same for the Jazz mistakes. Come on.

Shouldn't go off those numbers. Especially when Yuli, who saw Press pitch for 5 seasons, is sitting on the bench. Avi couldn't hit the one thing if he fell out of the other thing; using him for a rally is unconscionable.
August 16, 20233 yr As far as Jazz goes, it'd be nice to have a centerfielder who knows how to play the position but centerfielder gets the ball. True at every level and it wasn't even that hard a catch for Jazz. The bigger issue is having outfielders with no chemistry so they don't know when to look out for each other. Both Jazz and DLC need to look to see if the other is coming, especially DLC when he knows he's supposed to defer to the CF.
