April 8Apr 8 I don't have any real fancy looking shots like you were showing. i have one from the front and i grabbed another off an exterior camera '24 Q8 a truly wonderful driving vehicle. in late November of '23 i had to rent a car when I flew back to Tampa and they were almost out of vehicles but oddly enough had a Q3 available to rent and gave it to me. i LOVED driving it. It makes driving a car actually fun. The steering and handling was wonderful compared to other vehicles I had driven so I kind of went on a several months German car binge and test drove many things (the wife wanted an SUV instead of a car so I ended up getting the Q8 which was our compromise of her getting an SUV and me getting a lovely German piece of machinery). I absolutely paid way too much for a car but I don't regret a goddamn thing. I want to spend some money while I'm still semi-young enough to enjoy it. I don't have kids so we're blessed enough to splurge a little bit here and there in an otherwise modest life.

I like the Q8s - the Audis drive nicely, even down to the Q3/A3 as you pointed out. My mom has a '22 BMW X7 M50i, and it's pretty incredible what they're able to do with these SUVs performance wise.

The way I see everday vehicles, they are simply tools for getting where you need to go. You can either goto Harbor Freight and get the cheapest tools that will not last or you can spend some extra money and get the big brands that will last forever. Though Audi's are sweet.

We also have a wonderful slobbery Great Dane who loves her backseat car rides and as you can imagine it's much easier for her to get in and out of the Subaru and I enjoy not having to clean the slobber off the Audi or clear the hair out of the vehicle - so to circle back to what Das said about everyday vehicles we still kind of use the Subaru (of which Toyota and Subaru are almost the same in many ways and share a lot between companies) as our more daily driver and the Audi is more of our fun drive or if we're going somewhere fun for the weekend, etc. Driving that Q3 as a rental literally changed my viewpoint on cars just being modes of transportation though. It was just so engaging and just...fun in how they handle. Shoot, we even tested out a few Lexus, Jaguar, and Land Rover models and I just kept coming back to the Audi. On a side note, the Genesis GV80 and the Volvo XC90 are ridiculously comfortable just seat-wise but still, didn't feel as nimble as the Audi we settled on. Hopefully, in a few years down the line I can convince my wife to upgrade from the Audi to a Porsche Panamera or something similar lol. Time will tell! I just hope ICE are still a common thing by that point.
