January 18, 200422 yr 1-Pierre 2-Castillo 3-Cabrera 4-Lowell 5-Conine 6-Choi 7-Castro 8-Gonzalez I think McKeon might end up starting the veteran Redmond on opening day which would not make me happy. But we shall see. What do you guys think?
January 18, 200422 yr Can somebody post the Bullpen as of now, I kind of confuesd on who exactly will be in it at the start of the year.
January 18, 200422 yr Armando Benitez Chad Fox Mike Neu Atleast one of the following: Miguel Tejerable Tommy Phelps Justin Wayne And then: Blaine Neal Nate Bump Kevin Olsen Toby Borland Mike Nannini You know what's kinda good to hear (or sad, maybe)? This is better than last April's bullpen.
January 18, 200422 yr castro 7th? it should be castro 5th, niner 6th, choi 7th Castro 5th? you have to be kidding right?
January 18, 200422 yr castro 7th? it should be castro 5th, niner 6th, choi 7th  Pass that stuff over here.
January 18, 200422 yr redmond only starts on opening day if were facing a lefty... Ramon Castro kills lefties also
January 18, 200422 yr Castro's Splits... Vs. Left .409 avg. .435 obp. 1.299 ops. 3HR 9H 22AB Slg% .864 Vs. Right .194 avg. .265 obp. .684 ops. 2HR 6H 31AB Slg% .419
January 18, 200422 yr Gonzalez should be moved out of the eigth spot..... I agree, IMO he bats better when he is moved up from the 8th spot.
January 18, 200422 yr Id like to see Conine hitting third with Cabs 4th and Lowell 5th ... or maybe flip-flop with Lowell 4th and Cabs 5th. Conine is pure clutch. 1- Pierre 2- Castillo 3- Conine 4- Cabrera 5- Lowell 6- Chop Chop 7- Castro 8- Gonzalez i still think we should trade-adquire ... Carl Crawford , Joe Crede and Deivi Cruz to take over Pierre, Lowell, and Gonzalez respectively .. THE KILLER C's
January 18, 200422 yr IMO Lowell should not hit 4th.. He has said it over and over that he doesnt like the pressure he gets when he hits 4th. Another thing is i said over and over, that Coi is not ready for MLB. We should sign a cheap 1B. So this would be my Opening Day Lineup. 1. Juan Pierre - CF 2. Luis Castillo - 2B 3. Mike Lowell - 3B 4. Miguel Cabrera - RF 5. Jeff Conine - LF 6. Ramon Castro - C 7. Travis Lee - 1B 8. Alex Gonzalez - SS 9. Josh Beckett - P

Mike Lowell was our clean-up hitter all season until he got hurt and seemed to come through every time we needed him, hit 30+ HR's and 100+ RBIs despite missing that month. Yeah that pressure really seemed to affect him. Also in my opinion if you're going to sign another 1st baseman to alternate with Choi he's gotta be right-handed, because it would be kind of pointless to sign a really good backup 1st baseman if he's left-handed like Choi. My lineup would be: 1-Pierre 2-Castillo 3-Cabrera 4-Lowell 5-Conine 6-Choi 7-Gonzalez 8-Castro Gonzalez and Castro would be interchangeable, depends on who's hitting better at the time.

Yea but i think Cabrera can put up better numbers hitting 4th and Lowell hitting 3rd

Yea but i think Cabrera can put up better numbers hitting 4th and Lowell hitting 3rd I like Cabrera hitting 3rd because he's also a good table setter. He can hit to the opposite field well. I believe he will hit for a higher average than Lowell next year, he can move runners over. (To my surprise he was a very good bunter last year) Theoretically you want your best hitter hitting 3rd and I believe Cabrera will be our best hitter next year.
January 19, 200422 yr Another thing is i said over and over, that Coi is not ready for MLB. We should sign a cheap 1B. For how well he performed this past year in the majors, AAA and Venezuelian WL I think he atleast deserves a shot. Let's sign a outfielder. One that hits lefties better than Brian Banks so that Conine can get a breather at first base while Choi sits (if he makes the club). And if we're going spend major league wages a righthanded outfielder would be cheaper than an firstbaseman, giving us more money to add to the squad later in the year.
January 19, 200422 yr I think the lineup should be: Pierre Castillo Cabera Lowell Conine Choi Gonzalez Castro I agree that taking Gonzalez out of the 8th hole will help him improve because he will get to see better pitches. Also I like Cabs in the 3rd hole becaue really he is our best hitter. castro 7th? it should be castro 5th, niner 6th, choi 7th  Pass that stuff over here. ]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]~~~~ Oh Heres some of the s*** he was smoking.

O'Henry ... Henry Rodriguez, i believe he's jobless and would come really cheap.
January 19, 200422 yr I like Cabrera hitting 3rd because he's also a good table setter. He can hit to the opposite field well. ..... he can move runners over. Agree totally. The way Cabs already demonstrated he'll shorten up his swing with 2 strikes, the way he'll hit the other way if needed, I think he's perfect for the #3 spot. He can move runners over, but if he gets a pitch he can drive he'll still smash it. I want Lowell batting 4th, with Conine at cleanup.
