1. I was just reading an article on ESPN.COM and saw the following: Cleveland also has had preliminary talks with outfielder Juan Gonzalez on a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. Gonzalez, who had one of the best seasons of his career for the Indians in 2000, was limited to just 33 games last season with the Kansas City Royals because of lower back problems. Gonzalez made $4.5 million in 2004, but would have to settle for an incentive-based contract with the Indians if he makes their roster. In his only season with Cleveland, Gonzalez batted .325 with 35 homers and 140 RBI. My question is this, why don't he Marlins make a run at Gonzalez, sure he's been inconsistent with his health, but a one year incentive loaded contract is virtually a win win situation for the fish. He's got a cannon and the potential for a really big bat to take some time from 432-Juan. Just curious what you guys think.
2. hey guys, just checked rumor central on ESPN Insider.....It does have a post about the Rays trying to move Huff. Does not list any teams that are interested at the moment so don't get too excited. Hope that helps.
3. http://florida.marlins.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/...s_fla&fext=.jsp Sounds better
4. Rumor Central on ESPN.COM is reporting that the Yankees appear likely to sign Leiter to a contract. Just a rumor, take it for what it's worth.
5. could you post whatever you have,, even if its generic marlins please
6. A while ago somebody posted some videos they made from highlights of gonzo and such. If whoever that was that made them is still on here. I would love to see those videos again.
7. I hope everyone gathers one thing from this. Trial Lawyers are garbage and a vote for Kerry/Edwards is a vote against Juan Pierre and others in similar situations and additionally a vote for these blood sucking, money grubbing scum..... W in '04 593504 You're right, nation invading, oil spilling, opressive making, war mongerers are a lot better than trial lawyers. Mind you Edwards is the veep and the gorilla is the head honcho. 593507 I present a cut and dry point of the Democratic Party's platform being pro-trial lawyers and you fire back with propoghanda. Tell the millions of people that were killed by Saddam that we are "mongers" for doing what we did. OOPS!!! They weren't American's, we should have left them alone. My bad. GO FISH!!! PS: I wouldn't be worried about the oil spills and such considering it sounds like you are living in your own little bubble anyways.

9. B/c he makes 4 million next year and we need to trim payroll to be able to absorb Lo Ducas and Motas salary for next year plus resign Pavano. Also, we have Josh Wilson at AAA who is one of the best defensive shortstops in the minors and he can hit for a good avarage (has a better than .300 avg while playing in AA and AAA this year) 512366 Ramon Castro was a great hitter in Triple A.....Nuff said... Alex isn't going anywhere. $4 mil won't trim that much off of the payroll. 512367 Excellent point, we should never look to minor league performance in our prospects.....
10. while i agree that perisho sucks, i still get mad when people boo him. i would never boo any player on the marlins for there play on the field. the guy is out there giving it all for the organization and to make him feel like s*** because he is struggling is ridiculous
11. No too late now we are just screwed, just saying he's not that much of an upgrade esp since we are getting him for the second half. 486319 we better bench him right now then, with how good his second half numbers have been so far, he's due to start batting like .092. people like this are just too attached to their home town guys.
12. Darren Oliver has a 1 hit shutout going through 5 with 6 strikeouts.

18. enc never did anything wrong by us. im worried bout him and Jack's relationship a lil bit, hope theres no spite remaining there, besides that the only thing i dont like about it is hearing the EXTREMELY ANNOYING 4 3 2 JUAN chant.
19. Peter Gammons just said that the reason the trade did not go down was because the Marlins had to spend so much time working out the LA deal along with all the financial implications tied into it.
20. i think when the dodgers made the deal with us they were fealing confident they could swing RJ, now they really screwed themselves.
