AROUND THE HORN!!!
OK, i was a little confused at first but now i think i got it, the marlins just got acknowledged on a national stage. After the question of Clemens being an NL Cy Young candadite came up, three of the four guys asked all said JOSH BECKETT would win the Cy Young. A couple even went on to point out that they are the best team in baseball and getting no respect even now. This kind of unanimous praise of the fish is the first i've seen. I really enjoyed this and I hope all of you did as well.

Need some help finding something
when i was at the games this week i saw a guy a couple times in what can only be described as a marlins "alternate" jersey. It was of mike lowell and it was the style of a football jersey kind of. does anyone know where you can find one of these?

For those who worry bout benitez getting worn out
all of you who are saying we are going to have a problem if benitez has to pitch five times a week, i wouldnt get too worked up. This was a great week, benitez will not be averaging five save opportunities a week for the entire season, i promise you this much.

PAX SUCKS!!!
I assume everyone else had the same problem as me at the beginning of the game, slipping in and out of coverage. PAX blows, we need a real affiliate, or UPN at the least.

This is what its all about
I went to todays games expecting a slightly above average experience being that today was the ring day, but I got more than that. One more excellent memory in my Marlins bank. From seeing the to choi's blasts to the fireworks and everything in between it was as close to a perfect night as you can get at the park. Now back at my house I sit bac and am just happy after a night like this. Unfortunately, even with all this, I can't help but think how people simply say baseball isnt fun and dont want to go to the games for numerous reasons. All I have to say at this point is management has done there part. Loria has been making extra efforts in fan relations this year and it is entirely apparent. If anyone can go to a game like tonight and say its not fun(which im sure many will) then this town does not deserve a team and I hope they leave simply because the players deserve something better, but on a positive note, I did see some very nice changes in the atmosphere from these new fans. Two of my favorites including the Hee Seop Choi chant when he came up to bat after his third home run as well as the "We Want Doughnuts" chant when the Marlins came one hit away from buying the entire stadium a dozen free doughnuts. All and all I would just like to say that the Marlins are great and I am appreciatve for every wonderful moment they have given me and everyone else from '93 to now. PS: I realize this jumped around a lot, but so did my thought process throughout the game so deal with it. :thumbup

Offering opening day ticket as favor to
My friend just backed out on me for the game tomorrow. I have one extra ticket now to opening day in section 251, row 2 seat 8, which is Club Level A right behind home plate. I am planning on just selling it at the game tomorrow, but I figure I would rather offer it to the real fans that come to this site all offseason. I would sell it for face value as I would rather someone that cares get to go than just sell it for a profit. The only catches are I want to keep the ticket after the game and you would have to get to the stadium pretty early cuz I will be there for BP. Email me ASAP as I will be checking it tonight and tomorrow. Leave your phone number where you can easily be reached that way we can arrange a gate to meet at. Go Fish Michael K Sparkiplug@aol.com

Tuesday's openers include: Tom Glavine returning to Atlanta with the Mets and hoping to put bad 2003 memories in the past; Vlad Guerrero leading the reloaded Angels into Seattle and maybe facing Eddie Guardado at crunch time; Richie Sexson's debut in Arizona against Colorado; and the Yanks and Rays meeting again, this time back in Florida. And in that same state, the magic will be back at Pro Player as the Marlins begin their effort to defend their title. "It's going to be pretty exciting," said Beckett, the Most Valuable Player of the 2003 World Series after a breakout autumn. "It's going to be a lot like the playoffs with 60,000. That's a lot of people and it's loud. I don't think any place is louder when there are 60,000, because that place is closed off. It's going to be a good time." Mike Lowell is among the Marlins who re-signed, a stark contrast to the exodus that followed the club's 1997 world championship. The third baseman said he hopes seeing the world championship banner raised will set the tone for 2004. "I'm excited for the whole week," Lowell said. "We're going to have good crowds, which is nice. They will probably have a nice video on the JumboTron, which is nice because it gets you pumped up. You relive all the highlights. I'm very excited. I think the guys are focused and we could really get off to a good start." Just read an article and noticed this at the end of it, thought you guys might be interested.

World Series Banner
i hope that they can move both of them to a new place, i think a world series banner should be in a more prestigous place than hidden in a corner.

Top 100 Baseball Prospects
Being a small market team, we always say how we need a good farm system to remain competitive. In the following link, fox sports only has two marlins in the top 100: Jason Stokes and Jeremey Hermida. While I have been hearing plenty about these guys I havent heard much about anyone else. Is our farm system now really this depleated since all that young talent is now in the show. I hope not, please free to point out some other players aside from Allison and such, that may make a difference in the next couple years. http://www.foxsports.com/content/view?contentId=2238682

Speaking of Opening Day...
arent the rings just for the first 30k, if so do you think in the case of a sellout they may get more made? PS: I go to UF and will be going home from monday to sunday to go to the games on the opening weak, and that being the case will be missing a week of school, so I hope other fans that live 15 minutes away will show up.

Battle for the Bullpen
if what you are saying about benitez being out of shape is true, that really bothersme. we went out on a limb for this guy and he comes to spring training out of shape? your an athlete. i dont care if your a pitcher, you have a simple job to do in the offseason.... STAY ATHLETIC, this guys shown hes got a lot of ability, but now i just hope he has the initiative to go along with it.
