  1. far from convinced - skill players get hurt constantly - you could think of a variety of correllations and develop a curse

i can't stand that toothy jackass my wife gets upset that I swear at him everytime those commercials come on - mainly because she doesn't know who he is i'm also sick of the frank TV commercials and am skeptical of the show - at least he puts on a good show with his standup and has admitted that he's just trying to strike while the iron is hot
  3. the d'backs put on a good season - both the rockies and d'backs were very enjoyable to watch this year i'd like to see the rockies take it now - i was up in denver last week and the city was going nuts also toured coors field and was able to snag a 2007 marlins media guide which was sweet just good vibes coming from that city and that team

  5. it's a stupid notion first it hurts some cities in your domestic base - i can tell you part of the reason why there is such an interest in football here in AZ is the stadium is sold out and there is excitement over the SB - even for those of us who cannot touch tickets, all the events going around the event are accessible second - it alienates some of your core fans - keep in mind who your core fan is - there are a lot of people who will be pissed over the notion of having the showecase of americas game played on foreign soil this would be akin to the soccer federations saying let's play all the champions league games in the US - instead of home and away it'll be two neutral stadiums and we can tap into the many millions of US fans who want to be fans, but just don't know it yet because they haven't seen real football by elite teams london was one of the first franchises to die in NFLE - there is very little interest of knowledge of the game over there by the natives you want to build the game overseas? - sponsor academies - get the kinds involved - make it trendy and fun - make it accessible to their people - don't just bring over the showcase game that is silly expensive and a media circus showing them 1 superbowl isn't going to change 100 years of their thought and ignoring the game and all of a sudden make a nation of NFL fans i know guys in england who are hardcore seahawk fans - i've met up with them in seattle and road games - there are some diehards over there who were born over there - but right now it's pretty small not to mention the time zone issues - the latest you could start the game would be 9pm local - 4pm EST and 1pm PST - given that the event with big halftime shows and all the production goes a solid 4 hours you are looking at the pivotal moments of the championship game being played by a bunch of jet lagged players at close to 1am - brilliant

i am - i love the AFL also - if you are looking to catch the NLCS game tonight check stubhub - can get into the building for $9+ plus fees - good seats in the uppers behind home plate for $17 + fees lot's of good bars, restaurants, hotels over by the peoria sports complex - i always recommend the la quinta - usually under $100 a night and can stumble to and from surprise stadium and all the bars/restaurants

no idea on the GABF as far as if it rotates - i had my trip booked and was looking for things to check out and saw it was going on right as I was leaving - i wanted to kick myself for bad planning they did touch on the labels a little - i guess when the brewery started they co-oped with a lot of other brewers to share costs - then when they went completely independent and wanted to differentiate from the other micros that flooded the marketplace they leaned on their pre-existing relationship with hunter s. thompson (this they did not elaborate on) - through this connection they got into contact with the guy who did the illustrations for him and he agreed to draw up their label art

I just returned from denver last night - kind of upset as they were starting the great american beer festival about the same time I was boarding my plane had a great time in the city and the beer selections are great - also some local buzz about the miller/coors potential merger probably went on the best brewery tour of my life at the flying dog brewery - if anyone has a chance check it out - they encourage drinking before, during and after the tour - you even get to see and taste the whiskey at their sister company - beers were really good and they even poured us samples out of the kettles before they go to bottling really knowledgeable and fun staff as well the double dog and barleywine were probably my tops tasted with the old scratch amber and the dogtoberfest marzen coming in right behind that
  11. i really have no care for the stuff a couple times in highschool - a few more in college - really only heavily for a short period of time and that was a vacation in amsterdam - maybe twice since graduation really doesn't do a whole lot for me - much prefer a little bit of whiskey or beer i like my mind functioning at a higher level and really do not like what pot does to my faculties my little brother unfortunately smokes way too much - he lived with me for almost a year and I couldn't really get him to cut back - i definitely think it's slowly bleeding his future and i've seen a pronounced change in behaviour - he can still turn it around though - just sucks that he's let it get this far
  12. a moron that has the support of countless people it's his ball - if it meant so much to people they could of bid on it i could care less what he does with his own possession
  13. gilbert had his chance to buy the ball just like anyone else ecko put up a poll and the people spoke i could care less either way so I didn't vote, but i have no problem with it going in with an asterisk - it's a part of the story of the man, this era, this record - regardless of what side you are on you cannot deny that
  14. St. Louis Tennessee New Orleans New England Washington Jacksonville Houston N.Y. Giants Seattle Indianapolis Baltimore Denver Chicago Dallas 10-4
  15. i really hate the cubs and their idiot fans that are running around anyone see the guy with the cubs neon sign that he kept flashing at valverde last night?!
  16. I don't see the brewers moving anytime soon - the park in maryvale is pretty nice, even if the neighborhood isn't - plus they draw pretty well with all the midwestern people who continually move down here
  17. home: 4-5 3.81 ERA in 16 games (15 starts) - 2 CG, 1 shutout - 87 innings / 85 hits - 10 HR allowed - 62 SO / 27 BB road; 4-3 4.96 ERA in 13 games (12 starts) - 65 IP / 61 hits - 10 HR allowed - 44 SO / 23 BB it seems he throws a little bit better at home - although watching this guy he's pretty streaky - had one of his best performances on the road against pittsburgh after having his start bumped up this past week - i don't think it's the where he pitches as much as it is the when he pitches
  18. zeke has always been a prick from pretty much any account that anyone not named magic johnson has of the guy - however this is one of those rare times that the sports organization is going to have to act like a real company - they are going to have to provide some level of discipline and be fair with it, they are going to have to put in some anti-harassment procedures and they will have to open up a folder on isiah that documents both work related performance and behavorial issues
  19. i'm guessing it will be tony clark as well given the injuries that they've had i don't know the splits either, but owings does pretty well in chase with the bat - anyone remember that monster he blasted against the marlins?
  20. in these civil matters it usually doesn't bode well for the defendent if it even makes it to trial - no real shock here that they were found liable - i'm curious as to what their insurance policy looks like
  21. you absolutely do not do this - however, you do slate him to start at chase field putting him in as a DH would put melvin on the fast track to losing some of his position players and even though owings does have some real hitting potential and definitely some pop - right now he's doing it as a pitcher - in the NL pitchers get pitched differently than a DH would - also they would use his 60 ABs and scout the hell out of him in a game as important as the WS - he'd have to make some serious adjustments at the plate and hasn't had the experience as a batter to do it on the fly
  22. Alabama Florida Wisconsin Rutgers Penn State Texas Clemson USC West Virginia Oregon
  23. yep - i really dislike the cubs and have grown to really like the brewers following them in spring training and interacting with their fans i heard on the radio last night the marlins have won 9 straight against the cubs - make it 10
  24. looks like the magnent is showing two home series against the d'backs?! if the road games at SD/LA are correct I may have to make a bit of a roadtrip
