  1. gonzo was terrible with the "baby backs" out here he hated giving up any time to the young guys and was frusterated that there wasn't more of a veteran presence as for the juicing rumors i just saw this in a d'backs forum today
  2. track and field isn't making anyone any money so it's really hard to compare to football which is the biggest money sport i had family who played for a top 25 basketball team - fringe player for sure - but it was amazing the stuff they had also these kids in smaller college town communities are pretty much guaranteed superstar treatment the whole time they are there even if it isn't up front money - you know a kid on his recruitment trip will see how the others do and take it into consideration now to say that is the sole reason is a bit ridiculous
  3. yeah - seahawks fan for over 20 years - thanks man
  4. definitely - was a strong push to even get there - nothing to hang their heads about and you should be encouraged that the team is made of players who come together when facing tough times instead of quitting
  5. yeah - with the hawk leading the team on the field, the 12 flag ceremony - blue thunder When I was up in seattle this past september (for the bucs game - sorry bro) my wife had her purse stolen and in it was our digital camera ... so these are from a crappy disposal I just had developed this is the blue thunder drum line that plays around the stadium before the game and eventually gets the festivities started inside and sit by the 12 flag then a pic from our seats with the retired #12 and #80 a pic of the wife and me with the water in the backdrop the wife, myself and a certain pro-bowler finally qwest and safeco from the columbia tower - definitely the best views in the city and only costs $5 to get to the observation rooms glad I just had these done - with the playoffs makes me focus on all the good times, good people and experiences i've had regardless of outcome of the games - it's what it's all about to me - entertainment and a release - so appreciative of this ride and the fun over the past 6 years
  6. welcome to seahawks football - the reason i'll die young they like to make things very interesting - especially in the playoffs the GB loss the loss to the rams where engram drops a TD as time expires the cowboys win last year the bears OT loss last year and even this game they let a team hang around, washington got a couple of breaks and they needed to scramble to get that 21 point win would of loved to be up there - just such a great vibe on gameday
  7. SEA - HAWKS!!!!
  8. yep - reported 1 yr @ $1M
  9. I'm happy for dontrelle - one of my favorites i'll definitely be keeping an eye on the tigers this year with all the marlins connections in the last issue of SI they have an article on detroit and a lot of it centers around this deal - they stated in there that the whole deal came together really quickly and that the initial thoughts were cabrera for maybin and miller - the tigers wouldn't go for it so the marlins beefed it up by adding willis and a laundry list of lessor prospects - the tigers discussed it and decided not to bicker on the lesser products and cut the deal
  10. I just opined on this on another board - I'll modify for here as well....... i support the death penalty under condition unfortunately our legal system is imperfect (not horrible on the average, but imperfect none the less) - due to this the death penalty should be used for certain crimes where there is either an admission of guilt with basic evidence or any case that uses hard evidence like DNA to convict i would have the jury recommend and a judge confirm at this point there would be a state controlled review board - if they find the admission and evidence or the dna like hard evidence to provide sufficient proof of guilt then an execution would be carried out swiftly our penal system is messed up as well - the high level of violent criminals only make jails that much more unsafe and completely negate any potential rehabilitation - if you are in for life without parole then what is your incentive to act right? - why wouldn't you try to control what you can, murder, run drugs and get any power/control that you can - after all you are going to die in prison anyway also solitary confinement has shown to be very inhumane - instead of just killing someone you make them go progressively more crazy of a period of years - look into eastern state pen. in philadelphia - they were a pure iso prison - lots of issues (albeit it was the early 1900s) - it's a contridiction to state that the death penatly is inhumane, but caging people and letting their brains turn to mush is A-OK there needs to be a strong level of penal reform and it ties into the justice system as well with things like mandatory sentencing prisons are overcrowded - there is little reform for non violent offenders and little incentive for violent offenders to change their ways the two issues really cannot be separated - but I have no qualms with ending the life of someone who chooses to heinously end the life of another - at this point you've lost the right to live in the pack and be a part of our civilization if it is civilized to accept and not punish to the higher form actions such as raping and murdering an infant then I want no part of being civilized i also don't look to europe as an example - this is a part of the world that gets a lot of credit for being advanced, but is still mired in racism, civil wars, poverty and as many social ills as the US justice can be punitive and accepting this doesn't make you barberic, unevolved or ignorant
  11. nice pics - looks like a great time not sure how you and fredi were able to keep your eyes on the camera in that pic though

I just finished up a 6 pack of the anchor christmas ale - it was pretty good - they also sell magnums of it if you want to get really festive
  13. if you don't intend to shoot someone then why are you carrying a gun into their house - do you need it to bake a pie?
  14. NY taxes blow - i was always a NY resident throughout college and even after college when I moved to MN - tax season sucked - didn't earn a dollar in NY but they took a large cut
  15. good win by UA never knew tucson was a big baseball town - learn something new every day i'm sure ASU fans are a bit conflicted right now
  16. still a lot of time left - UA isn't a good team - too bad for OR that leaf is a terrible QB in this system - dixon makes that team tick, everything the offense does is based on the defenses response to him - seems like there could be a good shakeup though - OR just shot themselves again with a fumble at the 11 minute mark quick edit - no way that was a fumble
  17. Why would anyone in Seattle go to games now the rest of the year? especially since they didn't retain the two most known guys on the team............ at least that is what people say they also do not want to support bennett however, people will go to see some of the young guys, to support the team (not their fault) and to support basketball in seattle - it's not like skipping the games is going to hurt bennett at all
  18. Memphis will have some play in Arkansas - it's only a couple hours from little rock Kansas & Missouri could also have as much ties to denver & chicago (which is a lot closer to St. Louis) - although OKC is a lot closer to KC than either city (although not particularly close....) anyone know whose TV territory that is right now? not that any of it matters as this team is going nowhere for at least a couple more years
  19. and NO is a good market?! do it for a decade then talk about how good of a market they are how does OKC do for their other professional sports teams?! what kind of TV money are they going to bring in - it's a fairly narrow market for them and i'm sure advertisers/merchandisers are going to line up for OKC
  20. how has OKC proved to be a better basketball city than seattle!?!? - because they showed up for some games as a novelty?! seattle has had the sonics over 40 years and has traditionally been very supportive - even reworking their stadium in the 90s and working to provide them that stadium as a home in the first place (keeping in mind the team has played anywhere from the kingdome to tacoma.......)
  21. bennett has done nothing in good faith - he has put zero effort into finding a reasonable solution - he's wanted to move the team from the start find a team that isn't performing with an ownership group that wasn't good and is looking to get out - older building with a lease coming up - recently renovated with a public that doesn't want to throw even more money into it, especially for a non-local owner too bad paul allen already owns the blazers.............
  22. you're not going to get out of your lease you prick
  23. keep in mind a way this church makes money is by baiting people at the protests and taking advantage of their grief to get them to do something dumb (like attack a protester) and then they sue the person who attacked them (often a family member of a dead serviceman)
  24. I'd rather subsidize that kind of "stupidity" than having a higher teen pregnancy rate and all the problems that come with teenage (often single) parenthood. We are going to pay for it one way or the other, so why not give kids the tools they need not to have babies. Exactly. I don't think they are out there handing these out and telling kids its ok to do it like rabbits. But if a girl comes to them and says she is having sex and she wants to go on the pill, I think the damage has already been done. i disagree - some damage has been done -but further damage could be done by giving an 11 year old prescription medicines i have no idea when school became certified health clinics
  25. i agree about the actual administering of the pill are they testing the kids to determine if it's appropriate? - looking at any potential family history concerns? what are the qualifications of the person providing the pills? are they actually handing them pills & patches or prescriptions seems like a lot of undue liability for the school as well i don't like this for myriad of reasons
