I actually have not been paying attention to Victor Victor this season yet I am sure he will come around...I just looking at what he brings to the table tool-wise does not scream to me Super Star. There is no way to know but he will surely be a Major League Ball Player just not a top tier major leaguer. I think the Marlins feel the same way because they drafted Outfield talent heavily this year. I get the impression they know their Outfield talent is deficient or at least not up to their satisfaction

Baseball is so much different than the NFL and the NBA where the best talent drafted goes to the teams with the losing record … I understand Houston stockpiled talent by being a bottom dweller for so many years but in reality it is about franchises being able to scout talent and develop them properly...That is why the Dodgers and Yankees always have abundance of talent year in and year out You can find premier talent in the 20th round if you are able to develop it properly. The Marlins under Mike Hill , under Loria's ownership were absolutely the worse. Miami being Miami should have been a primal attraction to the Latin American talent and overseas talent but for some reason that pretty much totally ignored that market because of refusing to spend an extra buck here and there. I was happy they pursued Victor Victor although I am not convinced that he will ever be a star player in the Majors. I know Mike Hill is still around but it is more than obvious he is not making the decisions reference the draft anymore It doesn't matter if the Marlins are a sub .500 team or a .500...They are starting to develop their scouting. We surely will in 2 or 3 years know if the organization apparent turnaround is legit

Interesting Draft Note The Blue Jays selected Braden Halliday in the 32nd round 25 years from when they selected his Father Roy Halliday in the first Round (Roy Halliday's number was 32) Of course this is in honor of his Late Father since Braden will be pitching for Penn St next year

I am excited with the Marlins 23rd pick...Nic Ready 3rd Baseman Air Force Randy Ready's son, he has some serious power He won the College Baseball Home Run Derby (Believe it or not it is a real thing) His Dad is a Minor League Coach for the Marlins Since he is trying out for the WBC USA Team he will be able to sign and play for the Marlins It appears They had already reached a verbal agreement before the Marlins selected him

To be totally honest I am more impressed with Nunez arm...he has recorded triple digit velocity on his throws across the Diamond. When he tested for PG he threw 95 MPH and he had just pitched the day before so he indicated he really wasn't throwing that hard

Abrams ran the 60 yards dash in 6.29...Nunez ran it in 6.28 about the same I guess

Yelich is a Southern California guy he won't be spending much time if any off-season in Milwaukee

I actually prefer a multiple prospect trade with the Nats, they can keep Robles/Soto I am OK with Seth Romero, Carter Kieboom, Eric Fedde and one other it is about the future not the present anyway

What is the Deal? We are the Houston Astros of the future? If the New Ownership thinks we are bleeding money now wait until they see attendance figure for the next 2 years! Bald Pajaro what was there was built from within...Mike Hill alone crapped all over it. He is still around even though he made the bad free agent signings and gave away the Farm with crappy trades. Maybe Loria could have directed him to try to win now but Hill is the one who fucked up the trades... I will say it again....The loss of Jose Fernandez changed everything for this franchise The FO panicked and tried to overcorrect

Admin Beinfest left September 2013 His last draft was for Colin Moran a bust, he however drafted Stanton , Yelich, Jose Fernandez, JT Realmulto, Adam Conley, AJ Ramos Nick Wittgren, Drew Steckenrider, JT Riddle, Andrew Heaney and don't forget he also signed Marcell Ozuna Although he was already gone a couple of months later The Marlins selected Bour in the Rule 5 draft I would absolutely give him a lot of credit in it Jennings did trade for Dee Gordon However Mike Hill's track record has been God awful in every way

Bour and Prado were injured The problem with this team was only one...A Huge One...Starting Pitching Streily a Mike Hill acquisition just plain sucked by the end of the year besides Urena everyone else was AAA caliber that is why this team won only 77 games Now We got rid of our best Players and Our Pitching is no better in the short term and really who knows in the long term...They will not win 77 games next year they may 37 games next year...and the year after...and who knows how long

By the way my money is on Giancarlo vs the Marlins roster BTW he might just hit more Dingers than the entire Parent and minor league teams affiliates added together

I think the question is if Yelich and Realmulto are traded can the Marlins break the record for lowest amount of HRs in the modern ERA, They may have the lowest Slugging percentage in History.

The only problem is a guy named Mike Hill who has no idea what a good trade is, or could recognize talent of any kind

The only difference between The Marlins and an expansion team is JT Realmulto and Yelich

If Mike Hill wasn't so hasty to trade Stanton The Dodgers might be in position to make a deal now
