  1. Good info buddy. Crooks is solid too. I'd love ten years of Herrera and Banfield behind the plate. Don't know if the marlins consider him but I rate him very highly.
  2. Right now the FCL Marlins are whipping up on the FCL Cardinals as well. Neither team has a lot of good pitching though. The Marlins class of 2021/ 2022 (Vargas, Peguero, Gerardo, Hernandez, Sanchez etc.) could be the Golden class when all is said and done. The international signings in the last few years are miles and miles better than the barren and embarrassing signings of the 2010s.
  3. BTW, I hate that MLB the Show commerical more than the guy with his SUCK-U-LENTS. Just call me the Captain. F*kk off.
  4. Texans, Since you like the Cards, what can you tell me about Ivan Herrera. Is he untouchable? Seems like a franchise type backstop but they have Contreras tied up for several years would they be willing to deal him and, if so, what for?
  5. Wainwright was a fantastic pitcher in his day but for his sake and the Cards I hope he hangs it up soon. He is the third worst pitcher I have seen this year. The Cubs guy named Killian and the Rockies guy whose name escapes me right now. Him and Greinke are two guys that had their day in the sun but both need to transition to non-playing roles ASAP.
  6. I'd take anything over 23. If you've seen Cueto's rehab starts, the opposing team might cover by themselves. lol.
  7. Fair enough on Davis defense. Isn't Mangum just as good though. Agree, the Cardinals have lost their way and that the manager is the least of their problems. Again, they have figured it out in the past and honestly could care less personally if they did but think they will.
  8. From a betting perspective a Wainwright-Cueto pitching matchup would be manna from heaven on the over.
  9. In other news, I truly despise to see Jonathan Davis being trotted out there consistently and Dane Myers getting splinters on the bench. Sanchez is not great in CF but I would much rather see him there and Dane in left than the inevitable joke that Jonathan Davis will become. Prove me wrong Godathan, you won't.
  10. They are a very poorly run organization recently. I'm sure we can all agree on that. These things change. Teams like Rockies and White Sox are obvious trade partners for Marlins. I've made it clear I'm not a fan of signing or trading for old guys. Arenado and Goldschmidt aren't under any consideration. DeJong is just not very good. For a historically well run organization such as the Cardinals they are right now pretty disastrous with their pitching rotation and have tied up way too much money in hitters than are on the verge of falling of the cliff. They will recover if history is any indication though.
  11. Pretty sure even the Rockies don't want to emulate anything they have done from 2019-2023. It would be in their best interest to try something different.
  12. Jsut to reiterate, we have 6 aces who are 27, 25,25,25,25, 20. (ok J-Daniel is a stretch). These guys aren't going to get worse. We are a dynasty in the making.
  13. Hence why we need to overpay. The Rockies are the MLB version of Sisyphus. At some point, they have to figure out they need to change things
  14. Well since you asked: The Pat Nishek trade The Matt Holliday trade The Ubaldo Jimenez trade The Larry Walker trade and for the love of God the Mike Hampton trade.
  15. It's reassuring that someone who doesn't know anything is telling me that I don't know anything. If anything that is a huge overpay for the Marlins but we should be more than willing to do it considering we have a legit chance to make the playoffs. Watson is not the centerpiece of anything other than a what could have been article, Eder is the key guy and considering our pitching depth and his advanced age and injury history is worth selling on. Would think that maybe even the Rockies would be willing to take a flyer on a Burdick type given their propensity for all or nothing sluggers. McMahon's trade value isn't super-high but he's miles more productive than Mean Jean and still in his prime. Diaz actually has negative trade value given his age and contract but again is a massive upgrade over Stallings (who at this point a potted plant is an upgrade). That would be more a short-term rental upgrade and buying time until Banfield then Ronald Hernandez is ready (and Joe Mack if he can somehow develop slowly). There are still holes at 1B and a potential big hole at CF as well, and SS isn't exactly superstellar but Wendle and Berti can support if we can upgrade the other pieces until the young wave gets here in a few years. The three guys I would not throw in with a trade are Marco Vargas, Fabian Lopez, and Javier Sanoja. Anyone else is fair game. But yeah I'm just a fan who doesn't know anything.
  16. Wainwright's curveballs look like eephus pitches. Jesus Sanchez is the Marlin we hate to love and the Marlin we love to hate. Ryan McMahon and Elias Diaz for Kahlil Watson, Manuel Medina, Jake Eder, and Jacob Miller would make us insta-contenders provided we DFA'ed Segura and Stallings.
  17. ryan mcmahon is a guy from the rockies who is interesting. Certainly an upgrade from Segura and is in his prime. Don't know what they would want for him.
  18. With credit to John Popper and Blues Traveler: ooh, can you feel the same? ooh, you gotta love that pain ooh, it looks like rain again ooh, feel it comin' in The MARLINS win again oh, the MARLINS win again I believe in MARLIN MAGIC!
  19. If we win this game we finish the first half 47-34. That's a pace of 94 wins for the year. We are going to make a move, it's just a question of what move we make. I BELIEVE IN MARLINS MAGIC!
  20. Nard-dog time!
  21. That's how you manufacture runs. Get the bat on the ball, plate discipline with walks, good things happen. Marlins Magic Baby!. I like it A LOT.
  22. Don't know why the Socks didn't start Pivetta. He's been very dominant. Thanks for starting Ort though.
  23. Conor Wong plays for my AA team in MLB the show. And he's still better than Stallings.
  24. Prospect alert: Starting to think this Marco Vargas kid might be something special. 18 year old from Mexico playing in the FCL. Batted over .300 in DSL last year, currently hovering around .340. Has more BBs than Ks.
