Jean Segura
Berti and Wendle are the two MLB choices, idk if Hampson can play third. All three are better suited as backups in all honesty. Groshans is at AAA. They are shuttling him between 1B and 3B but if he could start hitting a lick will be a viable option down the road. Rizzo is at AA, has shown no signs of being capable of hitting MLB thus far. Berry is hi-A and has just not been good at all yet. McCants is in Jupiter and he hasn't shown anything to indicate he's a future major leaguer. Our two best 3B candidates are Cappe if he keeps filling out and outgrows the middle infeild and Yoffry Solano who is many years away.

What do we do when Chargois, Enright, and Nance come back?
Hoeing is obvious. The other two are question marks. Do they have options?

It's big EUnit time! I'm so excited, I'm so excited, I'm so scared.

Eury Perez to Debut Friday
Good to see Sandy take him under his wing. Watched multiple Eury starts in minors. His stuff is pretty sick, still feel he needs to learn how to pitch a little. Very, very excited to see him in majors though. Gave him the nickname "The Big EUnit" last year. Don't know if it will stick.

5/7 Vs Cubs
What an AB by Jesus. That's the kind of approach we need. Love it.

5/7 Vs Cubs
Didn't tune in until the 6th inning because of work, but still looking to get a full 9, at least, today.

5/7 Vs Cubs
We are the most fundamentally unsound team in all of baseball, and yes that includes the pony league, little league, and the challenge league.

5/6 post game
Cueto got rocked in Jacksonville just as bad if not worse than his Marlin start.

5/6 VS Cubs
Good point, Mangum would have been a better choice in that situation. Given how questionable we are at the corner OF spots in the field he could end up as a late-inning defensive substitution. Hope we see him at some point. Also, Chi Chi Rodriguez has been hot garbage for 10 years. His last good year was 2014. He belongs nowhere near the big leagues and is part of the stupid Smeltzer/Nolin merry-go-round of DFAs. Nolin actually pitched well at AAA last night. We have about 14 good young arms but we are throwing these journeymen out there to eat innings since the starters can't get past five. Then we yank Hoeing who looked pretty good. I'd much rather see guys like Hoeing, Lindgren, Maldonado, Simpson, Soriano than these worthless journeymen pitchers. I expect we will see Bolanos in the inning eater/DFA role soon.

5/6 VS Cubs
Look like the Bad News Bears out there. Skip Buttermaker's defensive substitution putting Burdick in right was brutal.

5/5 vs. '03 NLCS Losers - 2:20pm EDT (Cinco de Mayo!)
Just walked in and turned on the game from work, got to see Stallings with a meek ground out. He is running out of time as concern has to be high. It's hard to believe Hampson is our best RF option. Missed Eddie's standard start, will just beat my head against the wall a few times to get the same effect. Outside of second base, I would say we are well below average at the other 7 positions. Hard to argue otherwise.

Some thoughts so far..
With the way the bullpen has been dancing between the raindrops so far this season, it is inevitable that some regression will result in us starting to lose some of those games we have been winning. Guys like Brazoban and Scott just aren't that good and when they regress it will start to get ugly. With the starters not going deep, the bullpen is going to be cooked by June or July. No amount of journeymen band-aids like Smeltzer, Nolin, and Chi Chi f'n Rodriguez is going to gloss over that. Hopefully some of the young fireballers will get a chance to step up and take their lumps for the long term betterment of the club. And Brant Brown is making some strides, but we still have some atrocious looking at bats with far too many swings and misses. Burdick, of all people, had a nice at bat yesterday where he worked the count, fouled off some tough pitches, and earned a walk. We need to see more of that and less swings and "mishes". Most of the prospects in the minors haven't made significant strides in this approach to batting, so it is an organizational problem.

debuting at number one with a bullet. Felt for the kid out there. Hard to watch.

Actually he may be pitching for Pensacola right now.

5/2 vs Braves - 6:40 PM
Pensacola is the free MILB game of the day and La Cabra is pitching. He is absolutely dealing tonight.

5/2 vs Braves - 6:40 PM
His BB/K numbers this year are eye popping. He looks a bit like a poor man's Arraez. If he can be close to that and stick at SS that is a very exciting middle of the diamond.

Avi to IL, Edwards recalled
Hope we can see X get a chance. He's looking like a poor-man's Arraez. 15 walks, 8 ks this year at the plate. Has little pop but still very young at 23. At the very least hope he can develop into a younger better version of Berti or Wendle.

4/29 vs Cubs - 4:05 PM
As mediocre as this umpire is, if he actually told Jazz to tuck in his untucked pocket I vote him Dad of the year. And then we had a Marlin batter intentionally walked. Read that again.

Watching Cabrera is like going on one of those virtual reality rides while you are high. You go through like 8 different emotions, swear you'll never do this again, exit it exhausted, then talk about how great it was and you can't do it again. He is pitching's immersive art.
