Trade deadline thread

Prob need another SP. prob an actual 3b. Anyone we should target?

I'd have a hard time trading our limited trade capital for a pitcher.  We need hitters.  3rd, C, and 1st base in that order would be my guess.

Honestly,  we can probably upgrade SS and catcher in-house.  Amaya at SS (like, give him a real shot) and either of Banfield or McIntosh at catcher.

Also, Meyers is tearing up AAA.  Give him a shot as well.  Seriously,  none of these guys can possible produce any less than what we are getting now from those positions.  There's little risk.  Use the time between now and the trade deadline to reasses our needs. I'm sure I'm a broken record about this, but I just hate that the front office are such cowards.

If Kim blows this (yes, and that too), she shouldn't be extended ( I know, cant blow it if its not extended). This is her time to show she is courageous and can make the tough decisions.

Wonder what his numbers are if you took out his production against us?

Dude has hit something like .650 against us this season lol

I think we do need another SP especially because Eury is gonna be removed from the rotation somewhere in early August or so at the latest probably. Combine that with injuries to Rogers and Cabrera? Yeah we 100% need another SP.

Actually no but I'm glad I bought a Powerball ticket then for tonight. VIP memberships for everyone when I win.

1. Arraez

2. Jazz

3. Soler

4. Trade Target — 2B, 3B, SS

5. DLC

6. Cooper

7. Sanchez

8. Fortes

9. Segura/Berti

I can live with this.

Rather have Jazz hitting 9th or at least further down by quite a bit.

Impressive that you're trying to acquire a guy that will play 3 positions at once while doubling up players on 2B and 3B.

To me, this offense could be vastly improved with two relatively cheap bats in Candelario and Bellinger.

Candelario gives you a switch hitting bat who’s traditionally better from the left side. You can almost platoon him with Segura (should he get going, at least against lefties).

Bellinger would offer similar platoon opportunities with Cooper at 1B, while also providing some CF/OF flex.

Candelario’s price could get out of hand given the shear number of teams interested in him, but neither guy *should* require a premium haul.

Yeah but there just aren't a lot of good bats available unfortunately so it's gonna require more than either of those two deserve because it feels like it's gonna be a sellers market for sure this season (all the more frustrating that Avi has been so putrid his entire tenure here because we could have dumped his ass and that shit contract)

the problem with so many wild cards now, everyone feels like they're in it, so fewer sellers.

that's also the problem with the garbaggio NL Central. The Pirates are 7 games under .500 but only 5.5 games out of the playoffs right now. Cubs? 2 games under, 3 games out.

What's with both central divisions being largely terrible for years now?

For sure. Here’s to hoping the Cubs are high on Jacob Berry. I’d be happy to sell them on the pedigree and recent draft status for Bellinger

You want Jazz hitting further down than 9th? That seems pretty insulting.

Yeah this is what I was saying the other day when some were aggravated that Kim hadn't done anything yet. At this current point, there is likely nothing she can really do because no teams are selling yet. But give it a couple of weeks and I think the playoff picture will become a little bit clearer.

He hasn't hit well enough to be in the middle of the lineup this year.  Put him in a different spot and let him earn that back.

He could be the most valuable 10th hitter in baseball.

You missed the joke.

Guess I'm not at @SonOfJack level yet with puns.
