What's with both central divisions being largely terrible for years now?

They're all being exposed now with the more balanced schedules. Back when they had to face each other a bunch of times, it made things easy for the "top teams" of the divisions to look incredible. Remember in 2020 when the Central divisions sent SEVEN teams to the playoffs and ALL OF THEM were eliminated in the wild card round?

Cleveland and Minnesota can't beat up on Chicago, Detroit, and Kansas City as much as they used to, so now they look as they are - decent at best.

He hasn't hit well enough to be in the middle of the lineup this year.  Put him in a different spot and let him earn that back.

I don’t know. I love the idea of batting him lead off followed by Soler/DLC and then Arraez. We need to find Arraez as many RBI opportunities as possible

Arraez should NOT be moved out of the leadoff spot. that dude is hitting something like .435 from that spot. he needs to be given the most at bats on the team as possible. Jazz....strikes out....a LOT and is not a leadoff hitter outside of he has speed.

Even though he’s an admin, I agree with him

His batting average in the leadoff spot is irrelevant IMO. Everyone knows he’s on a roll and is pitching him tough. He’s the #1 guy teams gameplan for when playing us and that will be true whether he hits 1, 3, 7 or 10.

The only thing moving him to 2 or 3 does is give him more opportunities to utilize his absurd bat to ball and pitch recognition abilities to give us great ABs with RISP.

When (not IF) Jazz gets going, he’s a table setter leading off. XBH’s, turn singles/walks into RISP opps with stolen bags, and great 1st to 3rd guy.

We started winning games when Arraez moved to leadoff. Him batting lower meant less at bats and less opportunities to make an impact overall. Jazz has never gotten on base at a good enough clip to warrant batting him leadoff really. He just has speed as part of the typical leadoff guy. Arraez was great before being moved to leadoff but he's been otherworldly since being moved to hitting first.

He needs to stay out at the top. Jazz should be hitting 9th. Not kidding either.

We started winning when we started playing better baseball. Correlation doesn’t equal causation here, but agree to disagree

Jazz’s 2022 OBP was .325.

That would be 4th this year, behind Arraez, Soler, DLC (.328).

In a better lineup, I might agree, but with what we’ve got, I can absolutely justify him batting 2nd.

"playing better" baseball also was because the guys we do have, shitty as they may be, were finally put in spots that made more sense based on how they're producing (for the most part).  Soler is not really a #2 type hitter but he's up there behind Arraez because we have a shit down of singles hitters and he actually hits homers so Arraez then Soler makes the most sense currently to give us a chance to actually score some runs in a game.  Giving at bats away by our unquestioned best hitter is not a good move.

This conversation was had on here a few weeks back but hitting Jazz 9th makes loads of sense.  It's not a slight to him, nor or we saying he's the worst batter in the lineup but Arraez is hitting leadoff so putting Jazz 9th and if he gets on base lets Arraez drive him in while simultaneously giving our best hitter the most AB's in a game.

I don't think anyone is questioning Arraez's ability to hit anywhere in the lineup. It's just a matter of getting him as many plate appearances as possible, and he'll definitely get more batting leadoff than anywhere else.

I would personally like to see Arraez 1st and Jazz hitting 2nd.

I’m pretty sure it won’t happen because Skip doesn’t want the two lefties back to back, but I’d like to see our best on base guy 1st & a lesser double play threat hitting 2nd.

At least against right-handed pitching.

Against left-handed starters, I say keep Soler 2nd & move Jazz lower in the order to 6th or 7th.

Your posts have more biased assumptions than actual tangible proof of what has been working in the last month.   Arraez has more RBI production leading off than he did in the 3-4 hole because Jazz never got it done leading off, he can’t steal first base unfortunately so you can throw all those table setting ideas out.   Arraez’s intentional walks have gone up when runners are in scoring position so moving him down will actually take away his at bats with more walks playing into the opposing teams strength.

We don’t need speed we need contact hitters.  Swiping bags is very common now all players are a threat to steal.  They should focus Jazz as a gap power bat, have him bulk up and keep him healthy.

I disagree with the notion of "things are clicking well with how we're setting things up with the lineup since X date, let's change that up completely because I think so-and-so belongs at this spot in the lineup."......

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

That's also why we saw Stanton hitting leadoff for a lengthy stretch in that season where he had "the slump".  You do what works for the team regardless of where someone "traditionally" profiles

Blackmon is the only guy in that return that intrigues me and he hasn't really been that good the last few years. Cron and Profar are both scrubs and Grichuk is just meh.

I'll pass.
