Sad to say
This is exactly why I'm hating the Marlins this year (and last as a matter of fact), we can't get any f***ing hits with RISP, I mean wtf??? If I was Brian Moehler I would find a way to quit the team or get traded, that was just awfull baseball last night, this team deserves to be sold or exterminated.

Seriously, start Conine from here on out
Encarnacion is my favorite Marlin. 812135 Are you a Dodgers fan? 812147 No, I just think he's a very good player, and so far this year he has come through with big hits and above avarage defense (a couple of errors), so stop hating on the guy u f***ing retards. :whistle

What does it take?...
Trade him (and maybe others) for bullpen help and/or a starting pitcher. 800421 Are you kidding me? trade for a pitcher right now would be the dumbest move, have u been watching the games??? our starting pitchers (except Leiter) are dominating the first 7 innings, it's our stupid offense that stinks, all of our "big bats" ain't doing s***. I predict we will remain in this slump for weeks to come, and will probably snap out of it when it's too late already. This whole season is just turning out like last year, in order for it to be changes, the organization needs to make real changes. Look at the whole Mark Wiley situation, I think the fact we got him our starting pitchers have improved dramatically from last year. I say get rid of everyone except Luis, Cabs, Delgado. LoDuca & Easly, screw the rest of our offense. And please promote Willingham to the majors. 800460 Well it's pretty demoralizing for your offense to be down 5-0 or so before they even get a chance to bat (Leiter). Sooner or later Moehler will stop overachieving, Dontrelle will not be quite as solid, and who knows what injuries can plague Josh or AJ. Then what do the Marlins do? Start Logan Kensing or Frank Castillo. Right now the way things are the offense has more potential than the bullpen. 800802 Well, then there is Ismael Valdez...I know a lot of people have no faith on the guy and honestly I am not a big fan of him but we have that 5th starter that might get the job done and use Leiter as our sixth starter/bullpen guy. I do think pitching is very important but let's be honest here, pitching is not what has been killing us, is our dormant/pathetic and animic offense. I think we broke the record on leaving RISP stranded. I don't think we need an extra slugger, what we need is someone like a vintage Pierre (circa-03) or even a Pudge Rodriguez who can always put the ball in play, we can't afford to keep loosing games this way it's pathetic. I mean Jesus Christ Brian Moehler kept us in the game and gave us the only 2 RBI's!!!! BRIAN f***ING MOEHLER!!!!! he's had what? 2 hits on his whole major league career??!?!? I said it before and I say it again, f*** THE MARLINS. :banghead

Fire Bill Robinson
This team right now needs a face lift. We need some new faces to freshen us up. An arrogant fetus like Bill Robinson is PARTLY why this team isn't hitting. He needs to get fired sooner than later, and I don't care how many letters I have to send to Beinfest. P.S. Did anyone see that watermelon/beachball hanging slider that their reliever threw at Lowell. All he did was pop it out of play. 800461 That's my exact point, we need fresh faces. I like the fact that we/ & and organization has remained loyal to some our our players (Gonzo, Lowell, Pierre) but when you see the players start to slump this way for such a long time you have to take action. These guys get paid millions of dollars and all they do is hit flyballs and double plays. s*** if that's their job I will be happy to do it for half of what they get paid.

Robinson quote
What about the runners left stranded on base? I can't think of how many runners we've left stranded, and all of the games we could have won. A lot of the times it's been our "big guns" who have made those kinda mistakes
-
Robinson quote
True, but is still a very arrogant and asinine thing to say, he should have known better. He's as much to blame as our offense.

Robinson quote
God, please fire this piece of s***, I can't stand Bill Robinson. If we are gonna start to point fingers I think he should be the first one to get cut out, second I think Jack has not been encouring these guys, the Alzheimer's must be catching up with him. I love the guy but man he looks all relaxed about this loosing streak and his comments are always something along these lines "well....I think we are doing fine, just in a little slump that's all, we'll pull through". Third I think the team is overall apathic, show no emotion and no fire, they are playing as if there was only a week left to play on the regular season after being out of the pennant race. Seriously I am starting to lose hope on this team, and it hurts me to see such a great group of players to be playing horrible baseball, and to see our starting pitchers doing their best to win a game and our offense just letting everybody down. f*** the Marlins for now. :thumbdown

I'm liking the bullpen so far
Yes and in a normal pen it would be Reidling or Spooney instead of Bump... 732404 Do you know how much more time will Reidling be out? I don't think I have seen him pitch, did he pitch on ST?

Burnett anxious to reunite with old pal
Wow, I'm shocked at AJ's comments :o

I'm liking the bullpen so far
Yesterday's game shows that our bullpen is shaping up well, it's a little ealy to say (I know) but ever since all ST they've proved to be solid. I really like Brian Mohler (sp?) I think he's gonna play a big part this year and can even spot start for some of our top guys. All we gotta pray for is for a healthy season for all of our starters. :thumbup

Did the opening day exceeded your expectations?
It surely did to me, I did not think the Marlins would just blast and shut out the Braves this way. Encarnacion does not cease to amaze me, I still don't know why people look down on this guy, he's a great overall player and I expect him to have a breakout season this year (mark my words). Carlos Delgado debuted with a BANG! the guy was all over the place and I'm glad, I hope he keeps it up. Loduca, Lowell & Cabrera were solid as well. The only flaws I saw were the starting pitching, Beckett didn't look as sharp as in ST but at least he managed to keep the ball inside the park and not allow any runs. I still think he still needs to work on his command a bit and try to not overpower his pitches. The bullpen looked amazing, I think this years bullpen is gonna play a huge part and it looks 100% better than last year. My only concern is Mota closing, I really hope the guy can assume that roll and do good. Other than that it was an awesome game and a perfect opening game, I'm sure all of the fans at the stadium got their money's worth, now let's keep it up FISH!!!!! :thumbup

I really miss Choi...
I'm looking at the Marlins Pre-Game show and there were some plays showing him and it kinda brought a tear

Cabrera sighting
Just decided to post this little anecdote. Miguel Cabrera is coming down to my building this afternoon. I met him along with his father, wife and agent last time he was down here. Hopefully I'll be able to slip out of my office again and chill with him for a little bit. His lawyer knows me so Im going to try to contact her and see what theyre up to. Since i met him last time I dont have an excuse to tell my supervisor this time, but ill see what i do. I'll repost later today 706167 Is his wife hot?

Complacency or Cockiness?
I agree with a lot of the people here, I see Chin's point, I am a very dissapointed by the Marlin's offensive performance as of yet, however from what I've read/heard our pitching specially our bullpen is looking pretty good so that has sparked some confidence in the team, but I just hope we get our bats going man, specially our main guys because this time we have no excuse to loose, we got a solid baseball team on paper and we should expect them to go far this year. With that said I also agree that it's only the beginning of Spring Training and we should give the team a little break.

MVP 2005 for PS2
Anyone own a copy yet? I got it last weekend, it's a pretty good game but not that much new from MVP 04, the graphics look a more polished and the fielding is slicker but other than that it's just the same game. However I'm digging the new Owner Mode, and the fact you can create your own ballclub and concesion stand etc... I think the new hitter eye is a nice feauture but I find myself always flying out to center, left ot right field most of the time. I think it was easier to bat on the previous MVP game. Another thing I don't understand is that Carlos Delgado was advertised to show up in the Marlins roster but he shows up as a free agent! I had to pay 17 mil a year for a 4 year contract

This is not looking good for the Fish...
It's just spring training. Half the game is played by guys wearing a number above 70 705391 Same is true of the opposing team. They don't make excuses. They just beat the hell out of us. 705396 Although it saddens me, I have to agree with you.

This is not looking good for the Fish...
Come April, it all goes back to be 0-0. I'd rather these guys go 0-20 or whatever in Spring and come out Red Hot come the Regular season. 705389 Right, but isn't that what Spring Training is all about? it's to progress and improve your game for the regular season, if we keep loosing games and keep getting shot out what makes you think we are gonna be red hot in April? :confused

This is not looking good for the Fish...
Don't look too much into it. It is the GrapeFruit League. 705385 I know what you mean but it's just so frustrating to see them lose like that, they got so much potential for it to go to waste.

This is not looking good for the Fish...
What the hell is going on? they keep getting their asses handed to them, our bats are cold and our pitching is so-so (not that bad actually) I know it's only spring training but we are better than that, what's up?!?!
