This season depends on the Pitchers. If they all perform near where they should be performing, this lineup should do fine. It is pretty much a replica of the Braves Lineup last year (low average/high power) which sufficed when supported by their pitching. I mean for god's sake, B.J Upton and Uggla both hit well under .200. We'll see I guess.

I don't understand some people. Being that this is a stepping stone year, the McGehee signing is a win-win. Why? First off, it means the marlins would rather pick up a young reclamation project who has had success in the big leagues (ala the cantu pickup which worked out great for us) than trade heaney/desclafani/nicolino for someone like Mike Olt. Second, the marlins were in a terrible bargaining position by having NO ONE to realistically man third base next year. So if they do end up trying to trade for someone, this atleast makes them look less desperate since everyone pretty much expects him to be the starter next year. Either way, who cares! Its better than polanco/velasquez/solano. P.s. Any one who says we are only winning 5-7 more games than last year did not watch the first 1/3 of the season when we were pitching the likes of LeBlanc and Slowey, and our starting lineup included Juan Pierre/Casey Kotchman/Chris Coghlan. When Stanton forgot to show up the first month and then got injured. When Placido Polanco batted "cleanup" and was Stanton's "protection". Seriously. Stop.

What do you guys think? I'm assuming this would be as a platoon with jones at first (assuming that both this rumor and the strangely slow-going garret jones situation are true). Morse had some great years with the nats, but he pretty much crapped the bed last year in a bigger park. As far as his stats, he is actually very consistent over his career against rhp/lhp (.284/.340/.479 vs lefties and .280/.332/470 vs righties). What's strange is signing him would make Jones redundant since Morse is essentially the same hitter as Jones, if not better, against righties (Jones slashed 271/.337/.489). On the other hand, having the other on the bench while one starts makes for an awesome improvement over Coghlan coming in to pinch hit in the ninth down by a run lol. P.S. Yeah, this is probably absolutely nothing to even think about but I'm bored and dying for the winter meetings to start!

I've seen draft videos/prospect videos/spring training at bats for olt but i haven't really know much else about him. Is he ready to make the jump next season? Same for Leonis Martin

Lmao! that's actually one of the things i don't like about him is he seem like a troublemaker (pardon the cheesy word). Then again, it could just be passion. I can understand his frustration in this situation since we've all been rung up on horrible calls by those drunk myopic "umpires" at HAA lol All my hialeah people know what i mean.

I keep hearing about bourn and melky. I'm thinking they're more than likely going to be resigned by their current team. Also, melky is having a breakout year that is NOT the norm for him. Yet, he will most likely be paid as if it is the norm for him ala john buck. we'll end up with another hanley paying .300/20 hr money for a guy hitting 250 with 10-12 jacks. As for bourne, no thank you, we seriously need a big time power threat in our lineup other than giancarlo. who that might be remains to be seen. Still think fielder wouldve been perfect in this lineup. And we could've traded gaby off his all star season and gotten a little something for him. Now he's gonna end up on the same boat as coghlan, wasting away in the minors.
