  1. Lol I like that the Phillies are worried *Punches Shane Victorino*
  2. Jesus of Nazareth....Someone get me a vicodin
  3. @jonmorosi Jon Morosi #Marlins telling Pujols they want a resolution "soon," source says. 9 minutes ago via txt Answer coming very soon, it would appear. mystikol your on a roll tonight, everythings 5 minutes late. Your the man. That's like, the only one I've been that late on. I didn't think anyone was posting Morosi updates here. But, if it makes ya chuckle, by all means. We're here for fun. Fun and Pujols. Dude whats the story behind that dog in your avatar? I see it everywhere but know nothing of it lol
  4. Can someone do me a solid and tell me what that 10/5 protection is? I'm guessing it's some kind of list of teams he would/wouldnt accept a trade to or something. Yes? No? lol When you've had 10 years of MLB experience and 5 with any one team, you get veto rights to trades involving you. Thanks Bro-Chacho!!
  5. Can someone do me a solid and tell me what that 10/5 protection is? I'm guessing it's some kind of list of teams he would/wouldnt accept a trade to or something. Yes? No? lol
  6. I'd love to see what you'd come up with. Cause judging by your avatar you have the design sense of a blind pregnant fruit bat.
  7. http://espn.go.com/espn/thelife/vggallery?id=7305461&photoId=7305455&photoCount=5 In case you wanna see a couple more, they're featuring screenshots of the teams with new uniforms (marlins, padres, orioles, blue jays)
  8. I think this really looks sweet, and knowing hanley, he's gonna find a way to really deck it out with his custom cleats/glove Not sure if this belongs here or if anyone cares but I'm just posting it lol Feel free to delete if it's in the wrong place
  9. If we can somehow get Wilson AND Buehrle, that would be the ideal scenario. We'd still have money for Reyes and Cespedes, assuming Gaby/Lomo and Nolasco are sent out to bring back an additional low-cost SP (Gio from the A's). I would imagine other teams would prefer LoMo to Gaby, which I am fine with given LoMo's reputation in the club house. Not only do championship clubs need talent, but more importantly, team chemistry. Package LoMo with Nolasco and a throw-in and we should come up with a pretty solid #2-3 starter. Hang on a sec, there. Trading Nolasco saves $9MM, yes. But Wilson and Buehrle should approach $30MM/year between the 2 of them; Reyes should get at least $15MM, and Cespedes at least $5MM. That's adding $50MM and subtracting $9MM. So, if we add net $40MM, then our payroll would be sitting at $100MM. We have to remember though, just because someone signs a 5/$125 doesn't mean we'll be paying him 25 million per season. I guarantee you these offers the marlins have out are heavily backloaded. Remember how long we payed hampton? Hell, the dodgers are still paying for manny ramirez and even worse andruw jones! For all we know pujols would only make 15 this year, reyes 8, and buerhle/wilson would make 15 between the two leaving us at 38 - 9 if we trade nolasco which would be roughly 30 million dollars we add on. So, honestly, I think we have a little more of a chance than people think since it's not just adding numbers based on the deal divided by years. I'm sure they know what they're doing in the front office.
  10. Sir pizza is alright but its FAR too expensive. A personal pizza is 10 bucks now at the restaurant. unless they rig up some different size for the park or a special volume price, I can't imagine how expensive it'll be at the stadium. Should've been Salvatore's next to flannigans in hialeah lol...hell, should've been flannigans
  11. oh yeah, I forgot about him lol. Anyone know his status? Like is he someone we expect up next season or is he a couple seasons away?
  12. He's only faced lefties so far this spring and has a 12.46 ERA. Edwin put him in right now to face Cora, and on the first pitch he ripped a liner into the outfield. I do not overreact, and I'm not doing so right now. But come on! He hasn't had a single good outing and I think by now he should be pitching halfway decent.
  13. I own a fencing company and someone in charge of the stadium called me to price them out an "art" piece of out chain link o.O. The fan in me wanted to do it just to say I had a part in the stadium, but I knew I wouldn't get the job with it being by his explanation a 30' + tall monster. I didn't waste my time. But I'm anxious to see what that finished product is going to look like. No big deal, but just though I'd mention it lol
  14. lol am I the only one who sees that Hanley totally missed that ball
  15. In the old stadium everyone identifies us with low attendance. Now in the new stadium, they're gonna rip us a new one with jokes about the circus we got going on down here. But again, as I said in the last post, at least it's there to laugh at lol.
  16. The art fund accounts for the stuff that people actually like, such as the Orange Bowl letters and the light installation. Almost all stadiums have some kind of "art" on the exterior. Some of that money also went toward the home run feature, which is a great idea to have one, but unfortunately all of the renderings make it look like an eyesore. So that's where all of that money is going. However, none of that accounts for Loria's tacky idea of color coding the sponsors. It does not account for Loria significantly altering the franchise's colors against the wishes of the fans. And of course, Loria has been open about his dream of combining art and baseball, which is an intention he has expressed explicitly. ugh, dude, tell me a-freaking-bout it. Great in theory to have something recognizable like the apple in new york. But Jesus Christ, that thing seems all kinds of tacky. Pelicans?!?! I mean really....Reminds of me of the Scott Stapp song and how it seemed like they told him to write about baseball so he looked up words in a baseball reference book and just plugged them in at random. Clearly the artist doesn't have much knowledge of the marlins. Although from an art standpoint it is rather creative. Idk, I just don't see anything "baseball" on that thing. But w/e, I'll take one of those in left field, center field, right field, and next to each urinal in the bathrooms if it means a stadium *sigh*
  17. In response to why Loria wants to treat this like an art exhibit, now please do correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't we also receive funding from the Miami Dade "Art in Public Places" fund? If we did, then that pretty much explains it.
  18. red, green, blue, and yellow? Probably means google got the naming rights lol. I guess I'd be alright with google park. :lol But yeah, I like the idea of the sponsors matching the colors of the section. I believe it nets the marlins a little more money since it's a more personalized campaign that reflects a bit of ambush marketing, and will strongly utilize word of mouth since all the people will be talking about how they love/hate it. I'm guessing that's the reason they did that, but I could be wrong lol. I will miss that big old grey concourse at joe robbie though lol
  19. I could be off by one or two but I dont think by much. Obviously I remember coming back and winning a few of them. But I also remember more often than not we lost those games. I was wondering if someone had our record in those games in which we blew saves?
  20. I like the lineup, the ONLY issue i have with it is that it takes our only real pinch hitter off the bench. Granted I havent seen any of hector luna since he was with the cards so idk what we have in him. so yeah...makes our already crappy bench even crappier.
  21. Come on, it's painfully obvious they sent him down mostly for financial reasons (arbitration clock) and to get him warmed up to come in to the league so he can hit a walk off home run against the rays in his first game. And hopefully repeat the career of the last marlin to do so. =P
  22. Mets tie it on a bad throw to first by Bonifacio on a DP ball. 1-1. *throws duracell rechargable batteries at him*
  23. Jesus Christ...Bonifacio lol...I'm really gunning for him to do well, but, this cant go on longer than the first month of the season with him. If it does, its time he gets cute without the e.
  24. Wait, Cody pitched??? WHEN!? lol Yeah, he pitched a scoreless 8th against the Mutts on Monday Actually, it was the 9th against the phillies. He totally shut it down XD
  25. Idc how much body heat there is, it's still better than 95 and humid
