1. I wonder when we'll finally start.. tarp is still on there. At least this gives time for dominos to get here
2. as I post that, a 2 RBI single.. 2-1 orioles
3. bases loaded, no outs for the orioles.
4. yeah, where's the rain? http://instacam.com/showcam.asp?id=PROPL&size=L
5. I think that this weekend against the Mets you should move LoDuca up to 5th. Lowell 6th. Enc 7th. 833784 Well, hopefully that's what will happen since Jack will be back tomorrow for that Series.
6. I hate waiting... Here's what the field looks like right now.. can't tell if there is rain: http://instacam.com/showcam.asp?id=PROPL&size=L There are people in the seats, so it must not be bad.
7. According to FloridaMarlins.com, rain is expected to delay tonight's start by approximately half an hour.
8. My guess is that nothing significant happens to the lineup until Jack is back, which is not to say he plans on shaking things up. 833760 Well seeing as nothing changed tonight and Jack is back tomorrow, I would think you guess right.
9. I like the lineup and agree Pierre would erase Luis most of the time. Pierre either flies out weakly to LF or grounds out to the 2B. One possiblity though would be to have Pierre bunt each time Luis is on base. At least that way he could have a productive out...with the possibility of beating it out. 833739 But that is just assuming Pierre is done. I sure hope he can come out of this and be the Pierre of old.
10. It's ridiculous... maybe he'll come up big tonight though, I'm still rooting for him
11. How old is Andruw Jones? 833705 28 I think. But we don't deal with terroists... I mean the Braves. 833711 LOL! No, I wasn't suggesting we try and trade for him, I just thought he was older. Didn't know he was only 28. It's like A-Gonz, feels like he's been around forever.
12. I don't believe we should dump Lowell at this point. If we were to get Sheff, then Lowell could naturally move down in the lineup. I would consider moving him all the way down to 7th or 8th until his bat gets going. Lowell is a Gold Glove caliber third baseman. We need his glove. 833707 Pierre Castillo Delgado Cabrera Lo Duca Encarnacion Lowell Gonzalez Pitcher That would be my preferred lineup. I would put Castillo in the leadoff position, but Pierre has been hitting into a lot of double plays recently it seems. Delgado and Cabrera have just been hitting better in that order as someone pointed out yesterday.
13. one hour to go
14. How old is Andruw Jones?
15. So what happens with Olsen now? Does he pitch tomorrow or take Lieters spot? 833692 I hope he takes Leiter's spot. Leiter needs to be put in the bullpen for the Marlins sake and for his sake as well. Did you hear the fans booing him as he came out of the game in the 5th inning yesterday?
16. I hope your not being sarcastic Fritz. :-/ The Rays do play teams really hard. Most games are close, but the bullpen/pitching staff in general gives away alot of games. I give them credit, for having such a bad record they really go out there every day giving Lou 120% 833569 Well, I haven't watched that many Rays games this season, so I'll take your word for it. But the Dolphins played their butts off for Jim Bates, but still were awful...
17. Luis is someone you can always count on. It is more obvious this year I think because Pierre is not performing.
18. Look Buddy, what the hell are you being so difficult about? He responded to Musk, I took issue with a part of his response and thus he started corresponding with me.
19. He didn't quote you, and if you generally agree with what he's saying (which in fact is the correct read on the play) why are you so upset? 833663 I believe it's pretty clear he was talking to me. I took issue with what he said about Lenny Harris, that's why I only addressed that part of his post.
20. The fact that Lenny Harris is the all-time leader in pinch hits just illustrates that he is a clutch hitter. He doesn't have to be in a pinch-hitting situation in order to hit the ball!! Also, tell me where you get the impression that I think it was the wrong decision to send Lo Duca home?
21. How can this be confirmed?
22. hello all...huuge marlins fan but an even bigger fan of the game of baseball...and it makes me wanna puke when i see people on this board questioning decisions when they have absolutely no idea what there talking about. In the situation you were talking about there was 1 out with Lo Duca on 3rd and Alex Gonzalez batting. Now the proper play in that situation would be to put the contact play on (which was done) for several reasons. 1. it forces the defense to make a perfect play, any bobble, slip, or play in the hole most likely means the run scores.2. even if the defense does catch the ball cleanly they still have to make a decent throw to the catcher with a runner running full speed at him. 3 Lenny Harris was on deck and although suprisingly he has had a good 1st half, he's still no cabrerra or Delgado.. So bottom line was the manager made the right decision and i personally thought he did a great job in a game that he had to make a lot of decisions. 833626 Lenny Harris has the most pinch-hits in the history of the game, aka he's clutch. What are you talking about? And he's a completely different player than Cabrera or Delgado...
