Rather than send down a pitcher, espeically one they want to get some innings in (Olsen), they may be opting to send down Willingham so they can keep all their pitchers after last night's marathon relief effort. They always have Willis as a last ditch pinch-hitter and Resop is a converted outfielder so perhaps he can swing the bat as well as play a defensive position in an emrgency. It's probably just that the lateness of yesterday's game pushed everyone's schedule back a few hours.

June 30, 200521 yr Id rather have Riedling throwing strikes than lieter nibbling in the late innings, albeit his 7 ERA. The more games go by, the less Lieter is as a viable long relief pitcher. He can barely go 4 innings!
