Rather than send down a pitcher, espeically one they want to get some innings in (Olsen), they may be opting to send down Willingham so they can keep all their pitchers after last night's marathon relief effort. They always have Willis as a last ditch pinch-hitter and Resop is a converted outfielder so perhaps he can swing the bat as well as play a defensive position in an emrgency. It's probably just that the lateness of yesterday's game pushed everyone's schedule back a few hours. 833561[/snapback] As far as athletic pitchers are concerned, Mota's only been pitching for like 4 years (SS all his life before that). So there are emergency options.

June 30, 200521 yr Been a tough year for Riedling and his family. Is he going to Albuquerque or is he being designated for assignment? It isn't like the handwriting wasn't on the wall.

June 30, 200521 yr It's too bad Riedling didn't get any rehabilition time in the minors at the beginning of the year instead of being rushed back.
