Glad there's some clarification, I guess it's respectable that Sherman didn't force him to stay, but it still sends that bad message that Skip wants out. I wish I could know if it was more about Skip really wanting to stick with Kim or if Skip heard the Bendix plan and wanted nothing to do with it. Kim isn't the only good GM out there so I gotta believe Skip gave Bendix a chance before making this decision so it can't be good. I guess there's the off chance that it has nothing to do with Bendix and that Skip really just wanted some freedom going into 2025? Is there any chance Skip is offered a chance to stay? I guess it would probably take a playoff spot in 2024 to even entertain that thought. Ultimately I don't want this to affect the team knowing they're led by a guy who has his bags already packed. Might be too late to even care about that but for this to become public in April is just the worst.

Actually when you put it like this it's way less about Bruce and about Bendix not finding the right guys because Bruce probably had no clue who Brujan and Smith were. Kim worked under Bruce and still built a playoff team. There's probably a bunch of shit owners in MLB who have good GMs under them who can still bring success to a team.

If this happens it's a fire sale that didn't have to happen, that they let happen, it doesn't have the "justification" that something like 2018, 2013, and 2006 had. Heck even 1998 feels different because Huizenga said it was coming and he did exactly what he said he would do. My first thought was to be furious at the organization but if Skip requested this, it changes things but it's also a bad sign as well as it shows Skip wants to jump ship. Awful. But it also means that if the season keeps tail spinning out of control Skip could easily be fired or resign before being fired like Edwin did.
