  1. Charisma Carpenter. That picture is not a great one. She has been in talks to possibly play in a Wonder Woman movie.
  2. Concerning Wayne and his ego here is one for you. Remember when he announced plans to build a Dolphin town and kick out the Marlins in (correct me if I am wrong) 2010. He made a press conference within a week or two after the City of Miami and Dade County announced their plans for the Marlins stadium in which we all know did not happen. Another great timing by Wayne was in Tallahassee when he opened his mouth to the politicians up their. It was during that time when the Marlins, County, and City officials were trying to work out on the tax rebates to close the funding gap. Then Wayne changed his tune and said that he would allow the Marlins to continue playing at his stadium and not kick them out as he originally stated. (he literrally did not say in exact words kicking them out but not renewing their lease agreements)
  3. -There are outside forces in the South Fla community (businesses, certain people in the media and Wayne specifically) are trying to derail talks or do not want this to get done. - outside forces include some polititians on the county and in the City of Miami Why is it not a huge surprise that Huizenga would try to derail the talks anywhere in South Florida? I think he is jealous because he is not getting his Waynes World or his Dolphin town/village built anytime soon.
  4. I like WQAM, cause they play the Marlins games and stuff, but mostly I love them cause they play Neil Rogers from 10-2 on weekdays. Neil Rogers is the king of South Florida media. Who agrees with me? Doy Doy Doy! I use to listen to him in the early 90's but now I just think he is a little to crazy for me. I don't care for his side kick either.

The Punisher by far, if you like alternative rock. Great soundtrack I use it for my workouts. Especially going at it with the heavy bag.
  6. Hank Goldberg seems to be in contact with someone possibly tied to Hialeah Park or the City. Hanks comments about the Marlins was actually a positive one for the first time in sports radio compared to Sid on 790 who was having a love fest for the Mets and trashing all the South Florida fans saying that we blew it with the Marlins and that we had our chances so we will lose our team and more stupid rhetoric.
  7. IIRC, Loria hasn't exactly been a frequent attendee at any stadium meetings, whether with Miami or San Antonio. If so, I'm not sure that means much. This morning on the Hank Goldberg show he stated that the talks with Miami Dade has not stalled and that Loria is incorrect in his statement (pertaining to an article from San Anonio quoting Loria) that the talks have stalled. Loria has been spending some time in Europe during most of these stadium meeting talks so he does not understand why Loria would make such a comment. That was this morning on the Hank show.
  8. Guys I could tell you that they are talking with Miami Dade. I will not reveal the source but they are defenitely talking and the last time was on Friday. It's leaning more towards the Hialeah Heights section. If they go towards the HH section concerning the UDB issue. Commissioners will only approve moving it for commercial and not residential use. That means no yuppie town village as some are saying.

This show is really awesome. Is Dennis Haybert the voice of Lambert in the Splinter Cell Video games?
  10. It may not be up to the Marlins. Miami Dade County is looking for accessibility to the site and possible return on their money such as creating more ridership on the Metro-rail. I know we have our disagreements on the metro-rail issue. I work with a spouse of one of the commissioners who I will not mention names. That is the question that keeps coming up is the accessibility. What may be accessible to you may not be accessible to others in Miami-Dade County. Another problem is that the voters in Miami Dade will not approve moving the UDB line. The Miami-Dade commissioners office will not move it either. One way or the other I hope something gets done to keep baseball here on either sites.
  11. They could also get special grants if it was built around the race track site since it is on the historic/preservation board . Just additional money out their to possibly close the gap. It has been mentioned in earlier posts that they could apply for these grants if it was built on the surrounding grounds of the race track. How much grant money they can get I wouldn't know the answer to that question.
  12. Leather helmets!! Real football period!!
  13. Some of you are upset about this and that's fine. I personally don't give a crap. I don't watch the NFL for the dances, and the dancing neither adds to nor takes away from my enjoyment of the game. If I do have one problem with the dancing, it's that it takes away from discussion of what I actually care about and that's football. I do think it's not a bad idea to elimintate the possibility that the dances get out of hand completely...there's no telling where this phenomenon was headed. In any case, you haven't seen the end of elaborate endzone celbrations...you just won't see as many of them. Well said, I watch football only for the game which is entertainment enough. Leave the dancing and celebrations for the cheerleaders. I want to see football played as it was meant to be played. I mean please fair catch signals, no hard tackles on the quarterback, etc. Bring back the leather helmet days!! That was real football.

Most abused but still funny from scarface is "say hello to my little friend" Star Wars "Luke, I am your father" Forrest Gump "Life is like a box of chocolates"

  22. Are they really going to approve moving the UDB for the baseball stadium? What about the other location at the race track? I keep hearing that it's also being considered?
  23. I remember stationed in Virginia they had very strict laws. Inside the bar you could not stand 10 feet with a drink in your hand close to the entry door. There was even a line drawn on the floor. You had beautiful female undercover agents working for the Alcohol Bureau at the time trying to get the servicemen in trouble. Many of the under 21 years of age sailors would get citations and the bars would get strict fines or possibly losing their license if waitresses do not ask for ID. I have not been their in 16 years and do not know if that is still practiced today. Anyone from Virginia please let me know.
  24. "...the ballpark will be in hialeah, where it's full of rabid baseball fans." Well not exactly. Yea...not exactly. Ain't that the truth. I guess if you think there are rabid fans in Hialeah you weren't paying attention in 1997, when Livan Hernandez started his MLB career with I believe 8 straight wins. Anyway, he was going for 8 or 9 in a row, and the Marlins were in the midst of a playoff race late in the season. I was at the game. I would guess that Marlins 2003 was there as well. He knows. It was a beautiful night with no threat of rain. There were maybe 10000 other fans there...maybe. The rabid Hialeah latino fans were conspicuous in their absence. That was the first night I thought that South Florida was truly a place with a miserable fan base. Perhaps that was the night that sealed the deal with Huizenga. If MLB survives down here, it will take another 10-20 years for a decent fan base to emerge. A generation. How do you determine "the truth" in who the Hialeah fans are? Do you ask every one to stand up from Hialeah in the stands? I'm just curious? It gets a little old about who the true fans are. Lets put aside our geographical diiferences no matter what city you live in and just support this team. Period.
  25. They had an explicit treaty. Where is the treaty here? And nice attempt to reframe. But who invaded based on faulty premises? The left or Bush? Most on the left said there was no connection between Hussein and 9-11. But who is moving the goal? The "right" says that they were buddies and that they plotted 9-11 together and that we need to invade Iraq because of 9-11. And now it's "they talked." Nice job! I guess the more important and vital issue is not the justification for Iraq and the absolute belief of the link, but how the left is critical of Bush. :lol Youre well on your way to being the next Bill OReilly accord. OK Ms.Helen Thomas
