April 3, 200620 yr -He spoke to his source (I think we all know who this is by now) earlier today and was told again things are going smoothly. -Other than a few other things that have to be worked out Hialeah and the county are waiting on the Marlins and other things that will be decided/finsihed later this month. -There are outside forces in the South Fla community (businesses, certain people in the media and Wayne specifically) are trying to derail talks or do not want this to get done. -Loria has been to zero of the dozen or so meetings the Marlins have had with the city and county.
April 3, 200620 yr IIRC, Loria hasn't exactly been a frequent attendee at any stadium meetings, whether with Miami or San Antonio. If so, I'm not sure that means much.

This morning on the Hank Goldberg show he stated that the talks with Miami Dade has not stalled and that Loria is incorrect in his statement (pertaining to an article from San Anonio quoting Loria) that the talks have stalled. Loria has been spending some time in Europe during most of these stadium meeting talks so he does not understand why Loria would make such a comment. That was this morning on the Hank show.

Hank said that? :o Where's he getting his info from? Wayne? *begin Wayne conspiracy theory talk*
April 3, 200620 yr -There are outside forces in the South Fla community (businesses, certain people in the media and Wayne specifically) are trying to derail talks or do not want this to get done. - outside forces include some polititians on the county and in the City of Miami
April 3, 200620 yr -Don't you just love what Wayne has done for baseball here (and dont give me-he brought it to us in the first place)
April 3, 200620 yr Hank Goldberg seems to be in contact with someone possibly tied to Hialeah Park or the City.
April 3, 200620 yr Hank Goldberg seems to be in contact with someone possibly tied to Hialeah Park or the City. Hanks comments about the Marlins was actually a positive one for the first time in sports radio compared to Sid on 790 who was having a love fest for the Mets and trashing all the South Florida fans saying that we blew it with the Marlins and that we had our chances so we will lose our team and more stupid rhetoric.

I think he is jealous because he is not getting his Waynes World or his Dolphin town/village built anytime soon.

Hell, what the city of Hialeah wants to build in HH is his Dolphin Marlin Town. :lol :lol :lol

Maybe because Dade, Hialeah and his own advisors haven't kept him up to date on the slow progress that is supposedly being made with Hialeah.
April 4, 200620 yr interesting, any more information please keep it coming. Thank you upon behalf of us palm beach county fishfans

So much for the Hippo's positive Marlin talk...that fat f*** was all over the Fish this morning. I had to change stations and listen to Joe Rose it got so annoying... :thumbdown
April 4, 200620 yr Hank Goldberg should be more concerned with his ratings lately.... :lol on an unrelated note, I'm getting a little weary of Samson saying they're trying to "save the franchise" by exploring other cities. Would moving the team to San Antonio make you feel good because you "saved the franchise"?? If it means moving the team, few besides you, Loria, and San Antonio is going to be happy about it you little dweeb. Get back to work in Florida and stop with all these stupid spectacles. An owner with the ability to put in some up-front money (and not just future rent payments) would have a better chance of "saving the franchise" I'd imagine. Going around with your hands out is a pretty liberal way of saying you're trying to save the team.
April 4, 200620 yr I don't know about anybody else, but I was really affected by watching the marlins brass sitting next to san antonio officials wearing florida marlins hats. how did it get to this? I feel like a complete jack ass for renewing my 20 game pack ( especially since they gave me a t-shirt saying "I'm hooked for 06"). I hope MLB realizes that this current ownership doesn't possess the means to get a stadium completed down here and that the solution is new local ownership with deep pockets and not moving to San Antonio. If the situation reamins like this, that is, if the threat of moving remains contsant and the marlins continue luring other city officials by bringing them to our games, then I just hope they move immediately. Its like pulling out a tooth; just get it done.
April 4, 200620 yr It seems to me that Miami would lvoe to see a new ownership than what we currently have but i would rather deal with loria and samson than not having a team at all.. If they leave who knows when we would get another team in here it would be a sad day.. we are bulding a museum and oprea house that has cost us more than 500 mil so far and counting if you think baseball games are expenseive try getting tickets to those shows trust me that place is being built for politcian FREE tickets and millionares for maybe 7000 at the most.. now that is going to be the NEW WHITE ELEPHANT
April 4, 200620 yr The franchise is not property of South Florida's. Loria and Samson know this. Every other owner knows this. MLB knows this. I know this. Many more know this. Yet why do so many continually bring up transferring control to a party more at heart to South Florida? It's not an option. Focus your mind not on attaining your dreams tomorrow, but take steps towards it today.
April 4, 200620 yr I don't understand all this talk about ownership changes either. The fact is that I would have no problem with the ownership if they weren't trying to back up mayflower trucks to the stadium and move the team. We had a big money owner, two of them in fact, and the problem was the same. We need a baseball park and in this day and age that means public funding. Whether it's right or fair, that's what Loria is competing with, owners that have teams in bigger markets and/or that play in publicly financed facilities.
April 4, 200620 yr I doubt Wayne is jealous over anything regarding the Marlins. Wayne cannot derail any negotiations, Wayne has no influence in Hialeah. WIll you guys give up on Wayne please.
