March 21, 200620 yr Jerry del Castillo of Descarga Deportiva ( 1550 am ) just said today (3-21-06) that the Marlins met with Hialeah officials yesterday and that negotiations are progressing nicely. He even said that Samson was quoted as saying that as of today the best proposal for a new Marlins stadium is the one put forth by the city of Hialeah. Jerry was on his cell phone on the way to taping a show on Spanish language TV (I think he said channel 8 at 9 pm tonight on La hora de la Verdad) to talk baseball. I hope he will be asked about the stadium negotiations and he will have more info for us.

March 22, 200620 yr Thanks. It says in that link there is room for a ballpark village too, seems like a premium site. Allthough a few drawbacks. Potable water? Couldn't a water source be routed or a tower built as part of the development costs(I'm not an irrigation expert, my house just got on city water this summer, been on a well for 21 years).

March 22, 200620 yr Thats cool. My knowledge of South Fla, as far as property and cities proximity to others, is limited. As I've said, I've never even been south of Orlando.

March 22, 200620 yr Just got off the phone with Jerry Del Castillo, he says that the talks went well into monday night and look very promising...hialeah heights is the place and it looks like the county is almost done acquiring the land from Armando Codina.....anyhow..i should be hearing from JDC in the near future
