Pay J. Burnett
Hey, he's lucky to be arguably the most talented pithcher in the market, and given the demand for quality starting pitchers, consumers will likely overpay. Simple economics.

Loria assures Delgado he won't be traded
After seeing first hand the kind of numbers Delgado can put up, and seeing how desperatly the team needs offensive production, it would have really been a huge step backwards for them. Its great to hear such news, thanks! :thumbup

SO LONG JACK McKeon
Or what about Mecir? Were Villone and Messenger really the next best options in the bullpen? 956748 I'd have been fine just pitching to Piazza actually. Or Mecir vs the rookie. Either way gotta score more than 2 runs. 956753 Agreed. Burnett pitched well enough to get the W tonight. The offense really let him down. 956771 that sums up the Marlins season "him" being any Marlins pitcher 956774 yaeh, Moehler knows a bit about that :mischief2

SO LONG JACK McKeon
You're right about Delgado. I don't know what the hell he was doing playing that far out. But Villone? Come on now... Delgado playing closer to the line could have been all the difference. But could have, would have, should have. It really doesn't matter. 956690 How about, the offense putting up some runs??? Would've made more of a difference...dont ya think?

farewell 05'
Someone argued earlier that we should be hopefull of the division race since we still had 6 games left with ATL and we have a better chance to control the DIV. than the WC. To which I respond: Tonights game pretty much sums up the entire season, when we had pitching going the offense was there and vice-versa. This 05 team will not and isn't capable of winning the amount of games necessary to clinch the WC, much less the Div.

Only 12 Games Left
THe division is not lost. They have 6 games left against Atlanta... 954702 I admire your optimism... but lets get realistic. We're on life support in the wild card race, you can simply forget about the division.
