I know Berardino wrote a piece about how he rejected both deals with the Rangers and us on Friday, but I was told he was leaning towards agreeing to come down here leading up to the deadline. IMO the killer to Walker being a Marlin was CJ. CJ contract would have been off the books which would have allowed Colorado to take more of Walker contract. I love the Mota pickup. I think he will be lights out for us this year and will be our closer of the future (ala Mariano Rivera when he set-up for John Wettland). I recall reading that Mota has a great relationship with Rosey from their days in Montreal together. I can't wait to see him match up versus his old friend Mike Piazza!!! :notworthy

The season has taken a tremendous toll on Redmond. The guy is so beat up he can hardly move. Teams are running all over the Marlins. LoDuca is an all-star, one of the top catchers in the NL (no question about it.) If you do not believe LoDuca is a huge upgrade over Redmond you are crazy. :thumbup

It appears as if CJ's decision to return to the Dodgers will directly affect the Marlins fortunes. If the Rockies can unload CJ's salary on LA they would be more than willing to pick up some of Walker's salary which would facilitate his deal to the Fish and move Nacion and prospects to Denver. Let's hope CJ wants to be in a pennant race. The thought of Walker's lefty bat in the Marlin lineup is very appealing to me. :thumbup
