  1. I'm guessing the first run was a home run in the 1st inning.
  2. We're now 5.5 games back, thanks St. Louis The difficulty with possibly winning the wild card, and the reason why it's a 50/1 shot right now....is beacuse we are no longer chasing just the Reds. We are chasing the Reds, Diamondbacks, and Dodgers....and of course the other 4-6 teams above us. But chasing the top 3 makes it much harder than it was 10 days ago when we had the Reds and everybody else. Now, we need to win our bunch of games(34-17 may do it), but we also need THREE teams to play meh. I again say we need to go 8-1 or 9-0 on the road trip to continue any possible thought of a WC. Even if we go 9-0....we'd still need to finish up 25-17 after that amazing feat. . . For the wild card...it's not looking likely. I'm still proud of how the team has done so far :plain
  3. Does this mean our bullpen is going to fall apart?
  4. When are they doing this? anyone know? You just miss it, it was at 9 pm EST :whistle
  5. Loria should be blaming himself for not getting bullpen help.
  6. Where else to put him? If we put him in the infield we goin have to replace Uggla or Hanley. Although Amezaga is as good as a hitter as Hanley and he is a good defensive player unlike Hanley. :mischief2
  7. When will Girardi going have the "Make fun of your Momma" meeting?

Wow I wonder what happen to all those people who join the board in October 2003. :mischief2
  9. Or a 9 games winning streak. We are held against a corner but we can still comeback. It time to start dominating the league again in this 7 games road trip. :gofish :gofisht :gofishb
  10. Many seems to have given up in this board. We may not win the WC but it will be disappointing if we don't threated the WC race until the very last day. I'm roooting for a 84 wins and be no more then 3 games back in the WC race. If we can do that, then it is definite a lock for next year when we improve and most likely our record will improve. Go Get Them FLORIDA FREAKING MARLINS! :gofish :gofisht :gofishb Go Fish We Believe!
  11. I didn't get to watch today's game so I don't know what happened. What went wrong today? No offense? Bad pitching? Bullpen blows lead? What happened? Olsen did great. Offense was meh. We did get 3 runs but you can never expect that to be enough. In the 7th Olsen loaded the bases with 1 down. Logan came in and left with the count (2-2). He was hurt. Tank came in and threw a perfect strike that was called a ball, walked in a run and then it all went down hill. :banghead Damm the bullpen ya the offense isn't getting the balls to fall at the right time. The bullpen seems to be struggling as of late and the umps definately didn't help that anymore today, and you can't forget hanlEy, his defensive and mental lapses on the basepads this weekend have really been horrible. I don't like Hanley very much when he is not batting. He play bad defense and stupid mental error. Hopefully he'll improve over time but he gotta learn to manage the cutoff men.

  13. If getting Taveras meant giving up a Jason Vargas then I would keep Cody / Alfredo in CF. I don't think Taveras is much is a player and I wouldn't give up on Vargas after one disappointing season. He pitched well last season and in the future may once again find his command and pitch well. I imagine right now his trade value is pretty low. I would careless if we gave up Vargas for Taveras. To me Vargas is really never going to be a starter for the Marlins. The Fish have so many starters in the minors who probably have a better chance than Vargas. :thumbup Marlins official said they got as much pitcher as possible so i the future they can trade them for positin players when they see it clearly where are the holes are.
  14. I doubt it, he wants to get them used to pitching far into the season, sitting them wouldn't help too much. It take some presure off Joe to try out some new pitchers/batters from the minor and do some experiment like in game management if we weren't still be competing for the WC race.
  15. its the curse of the 10th win ever since our rotation has gotten the 9th win and everyone is going for the big 10....evryone is suckingballs Holy crap! 4 reel!?! :o
  16. Blame the Umps for the meltdown! But I got to admit that the call was borderline between perfect strike or borderline. :mad Olsen got in trouble in the 1st. Hoover didn't help much. Hoover overthrew the 3rd basemen and miss an easy pop up behind homeplate. Olsen got out of the inning with 1 run. 2nd inning Olsen loaded the bases and pull a Borowski. Olsen show dominance ever since after the rough 2 innings. Around the 3rd inning, Helms almost hit a homer that hit the top tip of the scoreboard but came back in for a rule double. Girardi talk to the Ump and got them to talk it over but there was no arguement. It wasn't a homer. It didn't matter anyway as we rally that inning scoring Helms. Then Hoover does a squeeze play that score another run to take the lead 2-1. In the bot 7th inning, Fish leading 3-1, Olsen load the bases with no out. Girardi gave the ball to Kensing. Kensing work out the count 2-2 and left the mound with an injury. Tank take the mound. Tank 1st pitch was a ball outside. Count 3-2. Then Tank trew 1 right in the middle, it appear we caught a break that the batter didn't swing but the Ump call it a ball. Tank reaction was funny lifting both arm in the air saying WTF? 3-2 runner score on the BB. Tank walk the next guy to tie the game. Then Tank strikeout the next batter for the second out (We could had been out of the inning with a 3-2 lead if it wasn't for the ump). Then Tank, confused about the Ump strikezone, gave Dodger fans a lot to cheer about as 4 more runs score on hits?doubles. Herges came in to get the final out but Dodgers still score 6 runs that inning. Fish could not score the final 2 inning and lost 7-3. An aside note Reggie started today game. Player of the game Home Plate Umpire
  17. Set By the 04-05 Marlins Team Yes [ 9 ] [23.08%] No [ 28 ] [71.79%] 83 exact [ 2 ] [ 5.13%] Maybe I should had ask before the Dodger Series when everyone was happy :plain
  18. Dont you mean 3 steps back?
  19. Reggie Miracle Highlight: -The 493 foot homer in Cincinnati -The HR against Clemans that turn out to be the winning run -The inside the park HR from a bunt -Reggie still in a MLB team :thumbup
  20. What a turnaround...bases loaded, no outs and a 3-0 count, and then three straight k's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Borowski style :cool
  21. Squeez play! That what Girardi need to do a little bit more often.
  22. Ump talking it over :o We need a smaller ballpark
  23. Yes Reggie back! I hope he'll continue to hit even though Girardi bench him for a long time. Might take a few ab for Reggie to get use to the 95 mph pitches. What do you mean "continue to hit", Reggie is not ready for the major leagues, he had an at-bat last night and struck out on 3 pitches Because he haven't seen any MLB pitcher lately, but I'm sure after a few ab, I believe he'll hit the game winning HR. :cool
  24. Olsen, who is 7-1 with a 2.49 ERA over his last 12 starts, has not lost since June 28 against the Devil Rays :o :notworthy Our future Ace!
  25. Yes Reggie back! I hope he'll continue to hit even though Girardi bench him for a long time. Might take a few ab for Reggie to get use to the 95 mph pitches.
