  1. 17 year old kid turning down five million dollars. smart. I doubt the Astros would have filed the paperwork in time.
  2. I hope Valespin throws that ass in a circle.
  3. Who the fuck is Lou Caputo?
  4. We'll facetime ya. And hand the phone to me.
  5. Astros offered 5 Mill 5 minutes before the deadline. After an agreed to deal, he had the physical and the astors threw the hissy fit and offerd exactly 40% of slot- or the bare minimum to prevent him from being a free agent automatically and the barfe minimum to get a 2nd overall pick if he didnt sign. The issue with the DisAstros is they didnt negotiate in good faith- the issues the Astros saw are only seen by the Astros. He threw 97+ in his last game and worked out twice for them after with the same velo. The Astros tired to sign him below slot to use the money on Nix and Marshall. When that didn't happen, they also pulled the offer to the other players. One of them had an agreed upon deal and took a physical as well. He was cleared and about to sign when the DisAstros pulled back the offer. Aikens situation was they agreed at 6.5M, 4 doctors saw him and only one Astros doctor saw an issue. Thats three second opinions. The Astros offered 3.1M or the minumum to get a pick next year and didnt come up from that until the deadline, when they went to 4, then 5M with 5 Minutes to go. They tried to save face by "Making" a legitimate offer when they knew he was upset at them pulling the offer off the table and slaping him with a 60% cut. The only reason they offered 5M is because they are afraid of the courts deciding in Aikens favor. I hope he becomes a free agent, along with Marshall and Nix- just so the tanking 'stros get nothing for a tanked 2013. The Astros deserve nothing. While the kid is acting like a brat, hes right. Astros tried to get him on the cheap to sign two other players. When It didnt work all 3 kids got screwed in the process. Especially the other perfectly healthy kid that had his offer pulled just because Aiken wasn't signing.
  6. I give you the day off to come down. Now we only need that fuck bag journalist and his gang of editors to come. It'd be nice to put some boots to asses- I mean faces to board names. We can all admit- out board presence is a lot different than who we are in person. I'm a much bigger asshole in real life.
  7. Lol- what about you benderboy? When is good for you?
  8. Astros offered 40% of slot for months. In a panic they offered 5 mil with minutes to go and never got a yes or no. They just told them to pound sand. The fact the players have no leverage on this is what is disturbing. The Astros said he was injured and offered a lot less. The player got numerous second opinions saying he's fine and still couldn't leverage up until the very end.
  9. Looking more and more like the 16th. Anyone else care to chime in?
  10. Who else can go august 12th, 16th, or 17th?
  11. Uh, I made the Pat Neshek point before penguino did. You wanna fight? Let's all go to Winn Dixie
  12. Yeah, seriously. Why were there so many rounds in 1988? Anyways I honestly think they didn't want undrafted prospects to leverage other teams into a bidding war like the NFL / NBA picks do each year. I think by that time teams would stop picking and others can just going if they want to.
  13. That's why there are 40-50 rounds of a draft, because none of them are a sure thing. The 50th round pick could be more successful than the first. The greatest ever pick in the draft isn't even possible anymore- A small town catcher from MDCC in the 62nd round. That's how much of a crapshoot the draft is.
  14. I feel like any random middle reliever can have a good 30 innings. Hell, Dan Jennings has a 0.99 ERA, let's send him! All kidding asike, let's leave the All-Star game for the dominant starters and closers of the game; there's already enough deserving guys that get left off the roster. Nobody, I mean NOBODY, paid to see Pat Neshek pitch last night. Ummm considering he's from that area, I'm sure there were about 20/30 friends and family for him.
  15. You immediately thought you went back in time... lol I thought there was a fire, some type of Norman Braman condemnation of the premises- Or worse- Stanton really did break the stadium.
  16. The NL was missing some Clutch Tits
  17. Got the same email- I was wondering what the heck happened to marlins park- it didn't help I had woken up from a drunken stupor and was going through my emails a minute later
  18. Not sure how you think Solano is "just slower" than Bonifacio. Boni probably has twice the speed of Solano. Have you seen Solano run lately? Dude is almost as slow as Garrett Jones. Exactly, Solano doesn't hustle. Jones.... He's stuck in neutral but dammit---- he's slamming on the gas as hard as he can.
  19. Can't wait to see stanton break target field
  20. Genetically cannot hustle? What the hell DJs that even mean? Wait... you're gonna comment on that about Solano... have you SEEN Uggla run recently? He's white - I'm sure he runs as hard as he can. He's gotta work twice as hard to get to first---- Solanos got that perrico
  21. there you go. The batting average stayed the same but look at the power. Did he stop working out after the break no. And look at what happened to him in 2011. a disaster. What about Mike Lowell ?? we saw what happened to him after his all star in 2004. These cant just all be a coincidence. This is a real struggle. It's a 162 game season, players can't get tired? Jesus Christ.
  22. Genetically cannot hustle, yes. FTFY
  23. That's evidence that he stood around too long.
  24. If Stanton clears the stadium it'll go into the history books. He will be a legend of epic proportions.
