I give the city and county much more credit in getting the stadium done than Loria, considering the teams actual contribution to the stadium isnt very high. And really, Loria had too much of a hand in the design of the stadium, because if he does hopefully sell the new owner probably isnt going to like many of the design asthetics(the home run scultpure, first and foremost, and much of the color patters of the park). The sculpture and other colorful parts of the stadium were mandated by the stadium deal. Some of the money was allocated for "art in public places", and I believe it was 3 million dollars worth of a grant they recorded. Besides- those touches make it a fun atmosphere, not a drab one like the Rays Dome

Say anything you want about Loria, but the guy got a stadium built after many years of failure by others. He got the stadium built but running the franchise into the ground trumps the stadium. Nah- it atleast evens out. He won't live another 30 years. The Team will be here atleast that long.

Stanton hits a home run and I happened to listen to it over the car radio instead of seeing it live on TV. I feel so sad I could not see that magnificent home run. Aren't you in Jacksonville on a one day trip?

Don't believe Loria. Sounds a lot like "you should buy a house down here, Jose." Really? Why not? Because you and others who drip anti-Loria vitriol say so? Because you and others believe that everything burped up by the sports "media" based on unnamed sources is fact? At best, Reyes, a guy without a no-trade clause misinterpreted Loria's enthusiasm for him when he was initially signed. And I'm sure Loria had no intention of trading him when he was signed -- we were supposed to win and Reyes would be a key piece -- not lose too many games and lose 47 mill in the process. At worst, Reyes is an outright liar. I think he's just fudging a bit to protect his apparently frail ego or perhaps his unrealistic expectations. Buy a damned (heavily discounted) ticket, that'll have a bigger effect on Loria than making ridiculous arguments based on no facts. There are many reasons to keep a home in Miami- the weather is one, and the lack of state income tax is another. The same reason Derek Jeter lives in Tampa and visits NY and Arod is a Miami homeowner. Being a marlin should be third on the list of reasons to buy a home here.

Still April and I have the shits of this team...gonna be a long season unless some kids get called up in June I knew we would be bad, but if someone had told me we would go 5-18 I would have laughed at them. I never expected this. bulls***- you called it, then retracted, then called it again,then said we'd win 78 games, then asked if we'll win 28 games all year, then claimed we'll play .500 the rest of the way, and then said we'd be lucky to win 42 games.

Never mind, I posted it in another thread. I was so upset I didn't realize which thread I was posting to anymore. Can I blame it on Loria and the Leprechaun known as David Samson? It's their fault my blood pressure shoots up every night watching this team. From experience, they don't really delete posts until it becomes a "F You" post multiple times. From Experience.

People seem to forget that the only reason they paid Nolasco that money was because around that time Deadspin got a hold of the team's financial statements and exposed how they were lying about losing money. Then the MLBPA complained to MLB, and effectively strong-armed them behind the scenes into spending money, which led to the Hanley, JJ, and Nolasco deals. Before that I can't remember one instance where the team extended any starting pitchers. They traded all of the previous good ones (AJ, Beckett, etc.). 2 bad examples. Both were traded because of their attitudes, for lack of a better word. AJ was even told to clean out his locker with time still left in the season. Oh come on, Beckett wasn't traded because of that at the time. You could maybe make that argument with Beckett when he was in Boston, but everyone knows it was to clear salary since Beckett was about to get a huge payday, and they turned him and an aging Lowell into Hanley and Anibal. AJ was also traded right before a contract year. AJ wasn't traded- he was sent home for being a malcontent and told never to come back. He walked in free agency to the Blue Jays.

The Marlins TV deal really is sad. They are one of if not the only team that has so many games not on TV(possibly the only team who doesnt have every game televised).. Who the hell signed off on this? Wayne Huizinga , those non televised games were on Wami 69 in 1999

He sucks. Must be odd he is the all time leader in Wins and K's as a Marlins Pitcher. ^_^. I do think if Jose Fernadez is with this for 8 or 9 years, he'll be the new all-time leader in Wins and K's. He's just the Smartest Retard in this case.

Plus, if the late game was delayed you risk messing with a young pitchers routine when you need him to get that down the most. I agree with the decision, Ricky should be between enough and mature enough to know how to prepare in the case of a delay. Jose might just go straight to his IPhone and take more pictures of snow. Ricky is a veteran. On any other team, he would get the choice of which game he wanted to start. He was on the lineup card when he got to the park which means he was probably already going through his pregame routine. Then he's told he's not starting until later because the FO said so. This is a guy with a contract to play for this team. I'd be pissed and so would you. If Jose did do that, it would be his own fault but considering his attitude and how much he eats, breathes, and sleeps this game, I doubt he would do that. No matter if he sucks or not (which he doesn't "suck", he's just not great and doesn't have much of a future with us which shouldn't matter in the least when you're talking about treating your players right), they gave him way too far short notice. He has a right to be mad. Again, the FO getting involved in personnel decisions when they shouldn't. We are the only team in baseball that gets this involved in them to this extent and we need to stop. It's maddening.Realistically, what is the difference between preparing for a game and being told your going to pitch later, and prepping for a game and being told its delayed and you going to pitch later? I've been in those situations, and it's not fun but its the management side of the games we love. I took it in stride and used the extra prep to scout my opponent. It sounds like Ricky pouted.

We now have a .238 winning average. We are on track to winning 43 games. Huge progress!!! We are no longer worse than the 40 wins Mets. By my math, that's 38 games... Oh no, I suck at Math. Thank goodness I was never a math major. pretty sure you can't get any type of degree without passing algebra. Learned that the hard way myself.
