LF: Willingham CF: Maybin/Carroll/Amezaga RF: Ross Okay, but that centerfield tandem is a real gamble. We know Amexaga can play out there but having him start really depletes the bench. Carroll has yet to prove he is a major leaguer at the plate (but I do love his defense). Maybin strikes out about 1/3 of his plate appeaances in AA.

Pummel Jamie Moyer! We need to be relaxed, hit balls the other way, and score 5+ runs on him.

If you trade Hermida what would the outfield be next year? Gonzo? May retire Ross? Good chance he becomes everyday player Maybin? Is he ready? I just don't know

May I suggest instead of flyers, a HUGE sign, and I mean huge. It can say something like "Let us build our stadium!" We should do it for the Saturday game which will be on the national Fox.

MLB does want us in Florida. They could have contracted us or moved us a long time ago. It's not their fault.

Dan will turn it around by hitting two homers off his nemesis, Jamie Moyer, in the first game after the break.

Two things. 1. Make the game on Wednesday and give every major league team Thursday off. This means there will be two days between the last games of the first half and the All-Star game. Theoretically, everybody should be available to pitch. 2. If you are a pitcher and for whatever reason will be unavailable to pitch, then give up your roster spot. No harm. That should allow for 12 pitchers which realistically should be able to pitch a total of 18 innings.

It's an All-Star game, in five years no one will remember this game, other than the AL won in 15 innings, and it was the final one at Yankee Stadium.

This won't happen, we shouldn;t even talk about it. There is no way Detroit will give up on him after he was part of that huge trade. The only way the would trade him now is if they got some insane deal. No chance.

I have no problem with the "ASG decides home field advantage in the WS" fact. Like Admin said, before it was alternated so it really was no fairer.

When does this thing start up again today?

I'll be more broad for my categories. Starting Pitching: C+ It could be better. It should be better with the addidition of Josh Johnson and Chris Volstad. Nolasco and Olsen have really held the rotation together. Relief Pitching: C They were good, then bad and now look good again. They need more consistency to get a better grade. The fact that we have had so many people sent up and down does not help. Starting Lineup: A- The power numbers are great and the hitters have won us a lot of games. Hanley and Uggla are All-Stars and guys like Cantu, Gonzalez, and Ross have been better than expected. Keep it up please. Bench: A This has been a strength. We have guys that are good off the bench and good when they start every so often. Amezaga is the key here. He needs to keep unleashing himself. Defense: D It's been below average. We have the most errors. We make some good defensive plays but not enough to save this grade. We don't need to be perfect, but we must improve this area.

I thought about picking the Dodgers but they really need to make a trade an acquire a bat. Right now I'll say the D-backs pitching carries them.
