NFL Week 15 Discussion
Big Ben is the most sacked QB in the AFC. Don't think that won't be a factor in Steelers-Jags. :mischief

Republican Party Platform of 1952
I know Ron Paul has said that he thinks Roe v. Wade was bad decision that ought to be nullified or overturned. Very bad idea. Overturning Roe v. Wade will not instantly ban abortion nationwide. Plenty of states made abortions legal before Roe. It will permit states to ban it again, but it won't mean an instant nationwide all-situation ban. Roe v. Wade was about a woman who wasn't allowed to get an abortion in the case of rape, and they instead decided that any restriction of abortion was unconstitutional.

Ladies and gentlemen, your new stadium plan
And any expansion team that joins MLS, must have thier own soccer specific stadium, or have one built within a few years of joining. Not anymore. They did away with that before the Seattle expansion, because Seattle was adamant about playing in Qwest Field. Apparently they built Qwest so that American football was secondary to soccer. But a soccer-specific stadium would be kickass. Anything to keep more profit away from H. Wayne Huizenga. :mischief

Bobby Petrino Quits as Falcons Coach
Apparently, according to Fox Sports Radio, Arthur Blank was aware of the Arkansas rumors before MNF, but Petrino told him right before the game that he was staying with Atlanta.

Huizenga so frustrated he might sell Dolphins
I thought you didnt like the Dolphins. I don't. But I really hate H. Wayne Huizenga. :mischief I hate him with a passionate vengeance. Lucifer needs to grow a fourth head just for him.

NFL Week 15 Discussion
Mario Williams is a stud. Props to Houston looks like they chose the right player. For once the Texans are causing more sacks than they are receiving. :mischief Last year, they caused 28 sacks and were sacked 43 times. This year they've caused 28 sacks and have been sacked 21 times, YTD.

22-Year Old Claims Gang Raped, U.S/Halliburton Cover Up
So someone explain this to me - what is Iraq? I thought it was still supposed to be some kind of independent country, at least in a legal sense (not a territory or the 51st State). It seems to defy all logic that the US government has any legal right to offer immunity to its contractors when they are operating in a foreign country and should be subject to the laws of that country, not the US. Thanks for the thread detour and Paul soapbox you've built for yourself. How is that a detour? You're talking about crimes committed in Iraq. Assuming that logic applied, Iraqi law should apply and Iraqi law enforcement along with the Iraqi justice system ought to handle the business of arresting these people and charging and convicting them of these crimes. And assuming the Iraqis were an independent nation, I think they would be more than happy to prosecute these guys. And yet, our government can (and likely will, if it has not already) give them immunity for crimes committed outside our legal jurisdiction, and who will kick up a fuss? It supposedly happened in the Green Zone, which I think is technically a diplomatic mission of the United States, and hence U.S. soil.

"Warming is naturally caused and shows no human influence"
The key here is not the demand for developing alternative energy. I have no problem with that because it gets us off foreign oil. What I do have a problem with (and what always takes a backseat in discussions about climate change) is that most of these AGW alarmists are demanding that the United States hand over substantial sums of money to third world countries to control their emissions. That is pissing away alot of our taxpayer money on something that does not exist. I think he's referring to the global carbon tax some people are proposing the UN levy. Of course, the UN has absolutely no way to collect such a tax, since they are not sovereign. Yet. :mischief But seriously, why can't people embrace alternative energy? Lefties want to end "anthropogenic global warming". Righties want to end dependence on foreign oil. Who cares why you want to do it? Get together and do it!

"Warming is naturally caused and shows no human influence"
I'm sorry, but it's NEVER supposed to feel like late spring in December around here. Never. According to AccuWeather, you've had 70s in Pittsburgh as late as past Christmas. The record of 70 on December 27 was set in 1901. And those December record highs in the 70s are scattered evenly from 1885 to 2003. It might not supposed to feel like that, but it does happen historically. Just like snow isn't supposed to happen in peninsular Florida, but it happened in 1977, 1989, 1993, 2003 and last fall. Also, notice how the foliage this past fall was either late or nonexistant? Wasn't it pretty dry in Pittsburgh this past year? Drought can suppress foliage turning.

"Warming is naturally caused and shows no human influence"
It's 65 degrees at 1:48 AM here in Pittsburgh in the middle of December. I was outside today in short sleeves. I don't know if that's global warming, but I do know it's something downright strange. After several days in the 30s, and today will be 48, tomorrow will be 39, and Sunday will be 29. It's in the 80s right now in Orlando. Having lived here for 27 years, I can tell you periods in the 80s in winter are perfectly normal. Hell, in 1989, it was in the 80s a few days after a day with a high of 33 that saw it snow. Our lowest average high for January is 72. In January 2003, there wasn't a day that reached 70 degrees in Orlando. We didn't see temps in the 70s from before Christmas 2002 almost to Valentine's Day. The Winter of 2003 was supposedly the hottest winter ever.

Bobby Petrino Quits as Falcons Coach
They should called that "pulling a Saban". At least Saban waited a year. Petrino is a total p***y, and Arkansas would be stupid to sign him. I'm starting to believe that you don't watch college football at all. Oh, I know what he did at Louisville. Just that how he left Atlanta shows an incredible lack of character. He could have stayed for the rest of the year at least. I'm sure somebody would have taken him. Michigan perhaps?

Computer Upgrade Questions
The best/cheapest upgrade for any computer is upgrading the RAM. You will notice a significant difference in performance by going to 1GB. Currently I'm running 4GB and couldn't ask for anything more. Crucial is the best place to find out what kind of RAM you need. They probably offer the best prices as well if your willing to wait for delivery. Disclaimer: Don't get more than 2GB of RAM unless you have a 64-bit processor and a 64-bit version of Windows XP or Vista. Memory detection begins to sputter in typical systems beyond 2.5GB. Memory is cheap enough, you ought to be set with 2GB. Get two 1GB chips.

Computer Upgrade Questions
Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks! First - go to crucial.com. There is no reason for a tech newb to purchase their memory anywhere else. It is cheap and you will get the right memory. Second - you don't need to replace your hard drive. If I were you, I'd get an external hard drive instead. I'm a big fan of the Western Digital Passport. You can pick up a 250 GB drive for $130 - so it's a no brainer. They work really well, are plenty fast, and are portable. So, you just move your giant porn collection onto the passport and your 40 GB drive is free for other things. Bonus: portable porn. If you don't need it to be too portable, the Western Digital MyBook external hard drives are very good, and even cheaper. Best Buy has a sale on the 500 GB MyBook Essential for $130. Regardless, always buy Western Digital hard drives. :mischief Seriously, transferring info from one hard drive to another is not an operation for a newb. If you really need an internal hard drive (you really shouldn't run games from an external), get a geek friend to do it (if they have the software), or find a local computer shop. Don't get service at Best Buy or Circuit City: They will rape you up the ass. :mischief

NFL Week 15 Discussion
When will the horror end for the Miami Dolphins? Probably not this weekend, as they host the Baltimore Ravens. The Jaguars, however, are the ones dishing out the pain in Florida. This time, they head to Pittsburgh where they will try to pick clean the bones left by the Pats. Tampa Bay hosting Atlanta. See what happens when I don't say the Bucs need to prove they're for real? :mischief But they do control their own destiny: One win, the rest of the way, and they lock up the NFC South. Chicago at the Triple H on Monday Night. Giants hosting the scrapping Redskins on Sunday Night. Bengals at the Niners in the Saturday Night special. NFL Network steals Denver at Houston on Thursday Night. Oh, and Mangini heads to New England to take the penalty for squealing as the march to perfection continues. :mischief

They just scrubbed the launch until January due to a malfunctioning fuel sensor. This wouldn't be a problem if Melvin had designed it.
