How do you figure? Eovaldi has been "promising" for 3+ years now and hasn't amounted to shit. Hand got his first real opportunity in the majors and went toe to toe with Nate every step of the way. Eovaldi in 33 Starts: 4.37 ERA, .282 BAA, 1.33 WHIP Hand in 16 Starts: 4.33 ERA, .267 BAA, 1.32 WHIP Eovaldi has better velocity and better control, Hand has better stuff and is left-handed. Both are almost the exact same age, literally within 30 days. The big difference in value here? Eovaldi is arb eligible NOW and will be eligible for FA after the 2018 season. Hand is not arb eligible until 2017 and not eligible for FA until 2020. So, I have to disagree here, Eovaldi may be more established but when you factor in performance and club control, they probably have very similar value.

It's also nice to be talking about someone other than freaking Jeter today! I'm so sick of everyone crying about his last home game.

He is a lot better than anything we had last year at 3rd base... or has your memory completely erased last season? I agree completely. His stats fell a bit, but even if he replaces Gar-shit at 1B, it's not even close to the worst. I've always loved Casey.. Even more so after his reaction on Stantons horrendous night a few weeks back.

However, stats wise, Kershaw seems more likely with all the time out Stanton has and is going to miss.

I hope G makes it back. The Marlins are planning on it, and so is he. If he comes back, I think it will give him the final PR push that could give him the award, even if he goes hitless. I don't think that is going to happen... Clayton is looking more and more likely, unless a lot of people feel really sympathetic and applaud Stanton for coming back, IF he comes back. He's missed too much time, and who's to say how he will play? Like someone said, imagine how much it'll hurt to run with your face jacked up like that. There's not much risk for his face in the outfield, but it got me thinking how much it could hurt every time he makes contact with a ball with those vibrations.

Had to catch up on all this shit that went down last night... Just about threw up. The umps turned it from a tragedy into a complete farce. Really relieved to hear that he should heal by next season. But fuck those umpires. Absolutely! If anyone wants to be angry with someone, be angry with the umps! It got to be ridiculously biased out there.

Now his reaction to our dugout, I still don't understand, but things were heated on both sides. Either way, it's all a part of the game.
