Fourth Outfielder
Am I alone on Austin Wates? Not a great bat or anything, but our 4th OFer will rarely see the field. He's a glove first guy capable of playing all 3 spots and he's a great pinch run option as well, something we've been lacking a while. Not to mention he's displayed great plate discipline, another benefit off the bench. You are so alone on that, Wild Blue is sleeping on my couch tonight and my wife is taking her Apartment Hunting in the morning. I don't do couches or apartments... or fourth outfielders. I think it's a waste of a roster spot.

Christian Yelich wins Gold Glove
This wasn't too surprising.. He had MAYBE one error all season with a better glove than arm. He deserves it!

Yoan Moncada
He's a baby! He looks promising if he's free to sign after the 15th so the big dogs don't scoop him up.

Marlin Man
I split it out since I killed the off-season thread, individual topics for all Ahhhh, I see!

Jose Fernandez
This team never spends international money, so I just tend to assume that they're not going to try. Supposedly they made those runs at Cespedes and Abreu, but who knows whether that's actually true or not. Abreu would have been a great fit considering this team has a very weak hitting 1B. Abreu was who I've been keeping my fingers crossed for, considering we missed out on him last year and I'm sick of Garshit Jones.....but with the Marlins, I've learned to uncross my fingers. We hate spending money apparently.

Sooooo, just throwing this out there.. Is this "Marlins man" on here? http://oncloudconine.mlblogs.com/2014/10/16/mysteries-of-the-marlinsman-revealed/?adbid=10152746710502349&adbpl=fb&adbpr=47716487348&partnerId=as_mia_20141017_33896457

Jose Fernandez
I like him how he is. WildTurd and all. He just needs... A filter. A better half who won't let him online. Heck, maybe a parental lock on his computer. Trust me... I try and keep him off of that laptop.. We have been together since 2008, the Cody Ross, Uggla and Cantu days.. And every year he tells me he will only be avid on here "during the off season because that's when all the trades go down" ... But every year, it's a load of crap! True fan I suppose.. Gotta love him. Hopefully Abreu will be a reality with such a low payroll. We missed out on him last year. We shall see.

Ugh. What's funny is that I bet if you met Wild Card at a game or something and had no idea who he was, you'd like him because he's goofy. But why he knows about license plate numbers and stuff... that's beyond me. Maybe he really is behind this ebola crapola.

2014 off-season thread
With our luck, the Braves, Mets and notnatS will all try to have him quarantined for months before he reaches Miami. Damn Ebola. That would happen...that, or some zombie face eating Miami crap now that his face is all pretty again.

2014 off-season thread
I just don't understand. Numbers are numbers, stats are stats and facts are facts people!!!!! Lay off Wild Card and find someone else to pick on, like Loria.. he just sucks. It was pretty shocking to see the similarities in Koehler and Eovaldi at the season's close. Is it just because Wild Card said it that everyone attacks it? Maybe I'm missing something.. I live with the guy. I bicker with him more than anyone and know how "out of left field" some of his thoughts are but debating facts is just retarded.

Please, go away. Sure, "Wildturd" as you guys call him makes some ridiculous, off-the-wall and obtuse statements pretty much all of the time (more so at home than on here), but you guys have put up with his insanity for quite some time. When he isn't making everyone shake their heads, he is making some valid points and most importantly is the biggest, most optimistic Marlins fan I know (not saying that just because I live with the guy) which is what brings everyone here together. Be niiiiiiiice. The season is over and we are all just hopeful for some better decisions and optimistic for next season. He's going through "marlins withdrawals" and is creating ways to pass the time until April.

So Dim thinks it's too little, Piazza says too much, and Erick and I are at "about right". I agree with you 100%, Erick, that it would make sense only if they were able to commit to a FA starter as well. This kind of deal would only make sense of Loria wanted to go balls out payroll wise to win, with Donaldson heading into arb, FA SP, Stanton extension, etc. But if they would spend that money, having Yelich/Ozuna/Stanton/Donaldson in a lineup would be pretty damn nice. If you want to improve your IF, getting the best 3B in the game will certainly help. And if Loria thinks they're close enough, he'll go for it. ESPECIALLY if he plans to sell the team in the next 2 years... Why not?
