December 23, 201411 yr From MLB Trade Rumors: Though the Marlins have an exceptional young outfield in Christian Yelich, Marcell Ozuna and Giancarlo Stanton, the club is still on the lookout for a fourth outfielder, tweets Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports. Ideally, Morosi notes, they’d acquire someone who can handle center field to back up Ozuna. The free agent market has little to offer in terms of center fielders who saw significant time in the Majors last year, though the trade market has some options. The Padres have a number of outfielders that can play center field (Will Venable, Abraham Almonte and Cameron Maybin), Oakland’s Craig Gentry is an excellent defender, and the Cardinals’ Peter Bourjos is elite with the glove as well. One buy-low option on the free agent market could be Franklin Gutierrez, though his health issues are significant and he didn’t take the field in 2014. All of those names are my own speculation. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2014/12/nl-east-notes-taylor-marlins-haren-tulo-gattis.html Which one do you guys think would be best to go for? Considering I don't think we necessarily have one right now.
December 23, 201411 yr I would love franklin gutierrez. Used to be very high on him. Kind of like a Angel Pagan kind of guy.
December 23, 201411 yr Author I would love franklin gutierrez. Used to be very high on him. Kind of like a Angel Pagan kind of guy. I'd say if we can get him on a minor league deal and he ends up making the squad, then great.
December 23, 201411 yr all-in for Maybin. im pretty sure we could strike a deal with SD involving haren.
December 23, 201411 yr Unless the Padres are willing to eat most of Maybin money, I don't see the use of a 4th OF making 8M on our payroll.

December 23, 201411 yr I would rather not have may bin anywhere near this team. Just because of the past. We can find a different 4th outfielder.
December 23, 201411 yr I'd sign up for a Cosart for Bourjos deal. Where do i sign? How does that help us? Our rotation is lacking as it is right now until Jose comes back.

December 23, 201411 yr I'd sign up for a Cosart for Bourjos deal. Where do i sign? You can't be serious. A fourth outfielder isn't gonna get us any closer to the playoffs. A weakened starting rotation would put us farther back. No thanks. I'd shop Haren for any major league ready fourth outfielder on the west coast. With the starting outfield that we have there's no need to put any serious attention into finding a fourth outfielder.
December 23, 201411 yr Fourth outfielder is a great idea!!! Works great on my softball team!! #takeawaythegaps .
December 23, 201411 yr Am I alone on Austin Wates? Not a great bat or anything, but our 4th OFer will rarely see the field. He's a glove first guy capable of playing all 3 spots and he's a great pinch run option as well, something we've been lacking a while. Not to mention he's displayed great plate discipline, another benefit off the bench.
December 23, 201411 yr He's a Cards fan (no joke) and he's being facetious. YOU'RE BEING FACETIOUS. YOU ARE*

December 23, 201411 yr I would definitely take a guy like Venable. Good speed, good defender, and power.

December 23, 201411 yr How about Ichiro? His baseball career would face to finish line. Still remaining as FA. If he want to make lots money, we couldn't sign with him, but I think he can accept backup roll gladly. As time goes by, that possibility will grow.
