Wild Card
If he can take the field this season, MVP on lock.

Admin
I can't even hate it if Kershaw gets it and poor Stanton
Wild Card
It's over. Kershaw is ridic. If he actually comes back from that? I don't think it's over. If he doesn't come back it's probably over.

Kershaw is a full WAR ahead of stanton now (I know they don't care about that) and really just having an absolutely bonkers season on a playoff bound team. He's gonna be a 20 win winner in only like 27 games started? That K/9 and BB rate. The guy is pitching so well right now. If Stanton had stayed in and hit his 40 jacks I probably would have agreed, but Kershaw deserves it.

pollythewog
What if he comes back and still hits 40 HR? It would be pretty irresponsible of this franchise to bring him back in a full time role (let him PH sure).
pollythewog
I didn't realize how good Lucroy has been this season. Yowzers.
Edmeister
Pitchers have Cy young. It's a shame this happened to stanton would've been our first mvp

If he's cleared and willing, this franchise could use an MVP. He wasn't concussed, and he's not an infielder, I see no problem with it. Wild Card
It isn't exactly pain free to run with that much damage to your face. That's his decision. Let him make it, he obviously wants the MVP and he wants to get back on the field to get it. We might know after the doctor visits today. Remember, the Marlins have absolutely not ruled it out. They want that MVP as badly as he does.

Edmeister
He's not going to be mvp now. I don't know... The guy gets that messed up and is still willing to get back on the field and give it his all... if thats not an Mvp then I don't know what is... I'm sure that the voters will take that into consideration. Hell of a story it would make.
pollythewog
If there was more baseball to play, sure. But he would need to come back like tomorrow and hit like an animal while Kershaw sucks. Kershaw is going to win MVP. Seriously. Look at Kershaw's stats yall. Piazza31
Kershaw is a god which is why... he will win CY young. Kershaw is a God.... you're right. He should win both awards... The NL and AL Cy Young Awards.
SilverBullet
Stanton is gonna miss the last two and half weeks of the season, in that time period Kershaw will probably make like three starts right? I don't care how good Kershaw is... All of those voters who don't think a pitcher deserves the MVP award shouldn't be swayed by these last two weeks. If Kershaw is an MVP candidate missing the start of the season, Stantons MVP candidacy shouldnt be hurt by missing the last two weeks of the season. I just don't see Kershaw winning the MVP as so much of a lock as people think.
Michael
I honestly can't be mad if Kershaw wins it. The numbers he's put up this year and will continue to put up most likely, it's ridiculous. He was one vote shy of unanimously winning the Cy Young last year [st. Louis voter went with Wainwright, idiot], and despite missing the first month and a half has BETTER numbers this year. He's gonna win 20 or 21 [maybe even 22] games even missing 6 or 7 starts. It's insane.

Hotcorner
I heard the Marlins are supposed to be making some kind of announcement on Stanton today. I would guess it's to say that he won't play the rest of the season but we'll see.
