If he actually comes back from that? I don't think it's over.

If he doesn't come back it's probably over.

Kershaw is a full WAR ahead of stanton now (I know they don't care about that) and really just having an absolutely bonkers season on a playoff bound team. He's gonna be a 20 win winner in only like 27 games started? That K/9 and BB rate. The guy is pitching so well right now. If Stanton had stayed in and hit his 40 jacks I probably would have agreed, but Kershaw deserves it.

What if he comes back and still hits 40 HR?

It isn't exactly pain free to run with that much damage to your face.

That's his decision. Let him make it, he obviously wants the MVP and he wants to get back on the field to get it. We might know after the doctor visits today. Remember, the Marlins have absolutely not ruled it out. They want that MVP as badly as he does.

I don't know... The guy gets that messed up and is still willing to get back on the field and give it his all... if thats not an Mvp then I don't know what is... I'm sure that the voters will take that into consideration. Hell of a story it would make.

Well from this post you certainly don't know what an MVP is.

Stanton is gonna miss the last two and half weeks of the season, in that time period Kershaw will probably make like three starts right? I don't care how good Kershaw is... All of those voters who don't think a pitcher deserves the MVP award shouldn't be swayed by these last two weeks. If Kershaw is an MVP candidate missing the start of the season, Stantons MVP candidacy shouldnt be hurt by missing the last two weeks of the season.

I just don't see Kershaw winning the MVP as so much of a lock as people think.

I honestly can't be mad if Kershaw wins it. The numbers he's put up this year and will continue to put up most likely, it's ridiculous. He was one vote shy of unanimously winning the Cy Young last year [st. Louis voter went with Wainwright, idiot], and despite missing the first month and a half has BETTER numbers this year. He's gonna win 20 or 21 [maybe even 22] games even missing 6 or 7 starts. It's insane.
