  1. Nolasco pitches tommorow we can still get 2 of 3... The key is for us to continue to get 2 of 3 in series... Glaring needs is a 5th SP we should of gotten one... We have JJ/Ricky and half of CV/RVH... I am worried...
  2. I don't care what polls think. I could give a about the Yankees/Red Sox/Cubs/Braves... The Marlins are popular to me and thats all that matters! Big Series starts tonight! Lets Go Fish!
  3. Offense: C+ Rotation: B+ Bullpen: B+ Defense: D+ Overall: B- Prediction: 3rd in NL East 82-80 My heart says: 88-74 Wildcard Take 3 of 4 v. Phillies and start the 2nd half Right! Lets Go Fish!
  4. I take back what I said earlier... Its going to be a long night!
  5. lot of game left its only 3-0 in the 2nd...
  6. So I got my ESPN the Magazine today, and the cover story is their annual rankings of all professional sports teams in the big four leagues from best to worst. The factors they use to rank teams are: -Affordability -Coaching -Fan Relations -Ownership -Players -Stadium Experience -Title Track (basically competitiveness) -Bang for the Buck The Angels are #1, and the Clippers are #122 (last). As far as Florida teams go, here is the order: 16. Tampa Bay Rays 18. Orlando Magic 55. Miami Heat 61. Miami Dolphins 62. Jacksonville Jaguars 73. Tampa Bay Bucs 77. Florida Marlins 85. Tampa Bay Lightning 90. Florida Panthers In some of the individual categories, the Miami Heat actually have the 5th cheapest beer in pro-sports ($5.50 for 21 oz). Not surprisingly, the Marlins are 3rd last in stadium rating (120th overall). The only lower-rated stadiums are the homes of the Oakland A's and the New York Islanders. And I am the SAD SAD Isles fan!!
  7. Let's see what he can do in NOLA before we anoint the guy the second coming...Ayala was treated with total disdain among Twins fans. They couldn't wave goodbye to him fast enough. They are pretty astute fans. By the time he left, everyone, the team, the manager, the fans were happy to see him go. But he's a Marlins now, he's my guy. I would imagine you would be treated with disdain by your fans if you demanded to be traded because you weren't pitching in the "right" situations. He might be coming in with the expectation to inherit the eighth inning role but nothing should be handed to him until he has some solid outings. He's been much better in his career against right handers so I could see him eventually being used in a committee role with Meyer in the 7th inning. Lefties have absolutely torn him up this year. "He wanted an eighth-inning role. That's why he signed over here," Gardenhire said. "But he wasn't pitching well enough to be an eighth-inning guy. So there you have it. His thoughts were that if we gave him the ball in that eighth inning, he would be able to do the job more. My thoughts are, if you are not getting them out, you are not going to pitch in the eighth inning. We are trying to win." "I'm talking about winning this year and he's talking about if he doesn't get in the right situations here, he's worried about his contract for next year," Gardenhire said. "You lose me right there. I don't deal with that. We're talking about winning now. So we were talking about different things. That's why he's out the door and another guy is in here to pitch. It's not that [Ayala] is a bad guy. His theories are a little different than ours." mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20090623&content_id=5485216&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb Can't say I blame the fans for wanting to be rid of him. That is a dis-heartening article... A player just worried about a future contract. Ayala, shape up pal and pitch to your capabilities and IF you are lucky to join the Marlins big club pitch well.
  8. Ayala is a good signing... I got to see him pitch a lot up here in Washington a few years back he was pretty good but then he went down hill... Anyway, I like the move...
  9. You guys do realize, Sherrill sucks right? I wouldn't trade for Sherrill. I would stand pat, I think the team is fine... Call up Maybin and move Ross to Right. Call up Gaby and think about him @ third.
  10. I don't think the FO would be crazy enough to trade Cogs... However Uggla, Hermida, et al should go throw in Pinto too..
  11. no way in hell do I trade CC! Just say no!
  12. who would we give up in the trade for Sherrill??? I do not want to give up much...
  13. I would definitely give Ayala a look.
  14. Glad to see the fish win one. Living in VA, i've been stuck with MASN telecasts for the O's series and now the Nats. That plus most of the Rays series by Rays announcers...makes me appreciate watching Rich and Tommy on MLB extra innings. Nats announcers are particularly bad....but they were ripping our crowd (or lack thereof) big time tonight. Nice to see another VA Marlin Fan! I actually like the Nats announcers, Dibble is funny! Rich and Tommy are the best though... Duane Staats is the most annoying announcer up there with Michael Kay by far the most "Homerist (not a word)" announcer. You guys can kill me for this but I want the Rays to win the AL East or Wildcard; because I really hate the Yankees and Sox almost as much as I hate the Mets!
  15. The Rays are a better team than us! We need to forget about the sweep and take five of six against the Nats and Bucs @ "The Shark." Lets Go Boys!
  16. Oh, cool. Another DC area Marlins fan. Welcome! Thanks, Can't wait till the Fish fly north in August... I should be @ all three...
  17. Good Job Renyel! Man, I don't know if I can take another close game in the Ninth...
  18. LOL @ the fans Chanting "Gaby Sanchez" LOL! i didnt hear that are you serious? I am serious... My extra innings package is blacked out so I am watching on MASN2! It came in clear as day!
  19. LOL @ the fans Chanting "Gaby Sanchez" LOL!
  20. You guys have mentioned it before, but our starting pitching is really coming around! We are getting lots of Quality Starts!
  21. we never get any breaks, but like they say you gotta make your own breaks! They got a huge break in the first inning True, forgot about that one!
  22. we never get any breaks, but like they say you gotta make your own breaks!
