  1. Agreed about Dietrich. He is under club control for a long time and with Dee not being eligible for the post season we have to have him. If we trade any infielder it should be Prado. He has and expiring contract, having a good year and will be desired but he probably isn't a long term investment. Trading Dietrich would be an awful move unless you got a shit load for him.
  2. Really need to stay hot going into Cubs series
  3. Fernandez will be a tougher resign then Ozuna and reports have already come out that the FO doesn't feel good about the chances of an extension. I don't mind moving Ozuna but you had better get great value.
  4. Just wait till Strasburg has a taste of that shit for a few years. Dusty will ruin those Nats arms for us
  5. I think if the FO can make some kind of deal to help the rotation we could be a legit threat. Bullpen has been ok and if Stanton starts catching fire this lineup is legit. We just need more reliable starting pitching.
  6. It IMO is the perfect position to be in. If we continue to lead the wild card we will get attention but I honestly like being under the radar tbh.
  7. Really would like to keep this rolling and go into cub series with win streak
  8. We all forget that G is still young and has not even peaked yet. He will continue to work on recognition and maybe this was a good learning experience for him.
  9. Possible another corresponding move later?
  10. I believe this has been a strategy by Mattingly to not burden Stanton too much during his slump. Give him some extra time off to work in the cage and watch video while Ichiro is swinging a hot bat. I think Mattingly is being cautious not to let Stanton become so frustrated by going out there and reinforcing bad habits. I imagine it's kinda like he is saying... We're gonna start you and get you your ABs but give Ichiro a couple extra while you try to work on mechanics and pitch recognition and let you be patient.
  11. Some good ABs and has to feel good for Stanton... Get the confidence back...
  12. Was reading about him this week and many scouts agree he has the highest floor of most first rounders and a very high ceiling as well. Also even though the fastball only clocks at about 88-92, many believe with work and added muscle he should be a 93-95 kinda guy.
  13. The ABs for the most part have been better.... Just keep having solid ABs and making solid contact and Stanton will be ok.

Good ABs from Stanton so far. Trending in the right direction. Better pitch recognition and is hitting the ball hard
  15. He has been struggling this year but still young and still good stuff... Looks like we are definitely seeing what's out there... http://washington.cbslocal.com/2016/05/22/report-drew-storen-already-made-available-in-toronto/

I totally agree. Those are the best opportunities during a season to get more than a few games over .500 and really show you can compete. We have already shown we can play pretty evenly with the Mets and Nats. The key is can we separate from the bottom of the league and capitalize on those teams.
  17. Yes but it doesn't happen often. Too much risk and often teams want immediate contributors.
  18. Remember there is always the ability to take most of a salary in exchange for low level prospects. Also you could flip the scenario and say trade Dee instead of Dietrich?
  19. Depending on how much Loria is willing to open the wallet they have enough ammo. If Loria is willing to take on a salary they have more chips at the table. Also before everyone says yeah right... Loria has been willing to do this in the past....
  20. Haha are you serious? It's a legit question IMO. This team can contend but probably needs to make some moves and spend some money to really have a good shot.
  21. It is very clear why the front office wanted to start the year with vets and work in guys like Urena and Barraclough later in the year. Claw has great stuff but clearly doesn't have the command yet....
  22. This is not a good situation with the Pen being over worked
  23. Barraclough no doubt has the stuff... Just needs to refine his location and he would be filthy
  24. If we stay in contention when does the front office possibly make a move? IMO if we make a move early enough we do have a shot to be a playoff team, but waiting till the deadline may be too late. Thoughts??
  25. Now let's get the series tomorrow....
