6/5 post game

awfully nice knowing you can do other things before 4pm on a sunday. good win. improvement needed, but you'd figure with 3 more jose starts like the one today, he should make the all star team.

Went to the game. Won a free jersey. Jose was dealing and never looked to be struggling. May be his best or second best start ever. Harvey was great too and any other night deserved the win.

Sucks we didn't win the series but that game should be a nice morale boost

am I allowed to care about the standings now?

I think u should wait until late June to start scoreboard watch. June is a notoriously bad month in recent Marlin history

Fair point.

Todays win sets us up nicely ahead of the road trip. Minnesota, Arizona and San Diego are all struggling so if we play like we can a 6-3 or 7-2 trip is achievable and certainly is what we need to get us further over the .500 mark.

I will say for those who view these 9 games as opportunities to roll over the opposition. No game is easy. View the twins like your playing the Nationals or even mets. The main goal is to score 6 per game. The rest will take care of itself.

1 and 5 vs Braves

Yep, without fucking up royally against the Braves, they're firmly in a wild card spot. Of cause same story if Stanton the past 3 weeks had been resembling an MLB player.

yes. its amazing how short of a memory people have. assuming you are going to roll over any sort of competition is bad. maybe the twins' fans are thinking. "oh nice we play the marlins next, they have a winning record but cant score. we should sweep this series."

It's true that no major league game is easy. But that being said if the Marlins have any hope of competing you have to be able to get wins against the teams with losing records. To me the braves thing has been somewhat of an anomaly. So we have the 9 game trip followed by a home stand against Colorado and Atlanta. That's 15 straight games against teams with losing records. You have to capitalize during these stretches.

Gotta win at least 10 of those.

No walks in his last 17.1 inn. 28 strike outs in that time. Jose's insane. Reclaiming his crown as best pitcher not named Kershaw.

Fun facts folks:

1) Jose tied for 1st in Wins with 9

2) Jose currently 1st in K's

3) Ramos tied for 1st in saves

sadly, no offensive leaders

Do you think we get an offensive boost down the stretch?  If so, who? How?

Phelps is also #1 in reliever fWAR

Loriano has passed Koehler for most walks though :(

Stanton needs to start hitting the ball on this road trip. No more excuses.

I see no hope

Yeah, there's zero chance Stanton is ever good again.  The only logical thing to do is DFA him Carl Crawford style.

We need a facepalm smiley for some of your posts, Vince.
