  1. Miami's demographic and those in the new Marlins stadium area are mostly Hispanic. They're catering to their demographic. It's unfortunate if native English speakers feel alienated because there are more Spanish speaking acts but it is the smarter marketing plan since they need to create a fan base in the Little Havana area for when the stadium opens. Exactly......its not like the English speakers of Broward & Palm Beach county filled the stadium every night. They had their chance now its time to move on.
  2. Is anyone getting nervous about our offense? by Hurricane Maybe this thread is a good thing then Exactly ! :lol It worked before !!! :thumbup
  3. Mujica spring ERA 9.26 & Dunn 4.63 ?
  4. I say we end up 91-71 and win the WC ! Reading your post eariler, we have the best shortstop in the league, the best rightfilder, best pitcher in Johnson, one of the best starting five, and you are happy with the wild card, it seem your are not to sure, you should be talking divison winners Sophomore slumps during the season will cost us enough games to let the division crown get away from us, but that youth, that doesn't know they should lose, will do what those young kids did in 2003, they were not smart enough to know they should lose, and they won it all, and I think that happens again ! As Miss Shirley Bassey sung it......"Just a little bit of history repeating !" So we're going 20-40 and then we're going to have an amazing turnaround??? :thumbup touché :lol Maybe I was hasty earlier :shifty

  6. http://espn.go.com/e...o/podcast/index There should be a podcast of the show up at some point after 3 PM Thanks Iowa :thumbup
  7. Any links to the audio ?
  8. Nothing remotely interesting to me, just about all Hispanic acts. But then again that is the audience they need to attract to the new ballpark. So I understand it from a business perspective. They are setting things up for next year & beyond.
  9. Anything to keep Boni out of the lineup. I agree with y'all that love for Bonifacio is scary and could be Edwin's downfall.
  10. Stanton beats Oh and Aaron, and in both of their respective leagues. Hank Aaron is not the all-time MLB home run leader. Many people still believe Aaron to be the TRUE MLB HR King.
  11. 161-1. Only game we lose is when Stanton cant play as the US Army hires him to launch a rocket towards Gaddafi's pad As talented as he is why does he have to take the day off to do it. Just wait until we play in interleague play and as a DH he can do the Army job while we are at the plate :thumbup

  13. What happens in Spring Training stays in Spring Training Until this last week, Jupiter, Fla. must have been a very ugly place :lol :lol
  14. All these predictions mean garbage really but its cool to see the Fish getting some respect. For what it's worth ESPN the Mag has us going... 78-84 I saw that, and has the Nationals finishing ahead of us. Pour more disrespect onto us, go ahead national media, hate on us. And then weep tears of anguish when we crush you ! :thumbup :thumbup :thumbup :thumbup I AM READY FOR THE SEASON !!!!! :notworthy
  15. Marlins feeling strong armed for the NL East race JUPITER, Fla. -- If the rotation lives up to expectations, the Marlins anticipate competing in the tough National League East. Their entirely right-handed starting five has as much quality and depth since the franchise boasted having Dontrelle Willis, Josh Beckett and Brad Penny together eight years ago. Manager Edwin Rodriguez has set his staff, which is headed by two-time All-Star Josh Johnson. Johnson will take the mound in the April 1 opener against the Mets, who are going with Mike Pelfrey, at Sun Life Stadium. Ricky Nolasco will pitch the second game, and Javier Vazquez will close out the series with New York. Anibal Sanchez, the fourth starter, will face the Nationals on April 5. Chris Volstad, a 6-foot-8 right-hander, rounds out the staff and will pitch on April 6. The Marlins certainly will be banking on their starting staff to keep them competitive in the NL East. The Phillies and Braves, regarded as the two division favorites, each have strong rotations. "If you look at us, and you throw our staff up against those guys, we're not giving up one game, even if you match it up as it is," catcher John Buck said. "I feel very confident going into the season that our staff is going to be capable of doing what they can be doing." Awesome article ! :thumbup
  16. When James, Rasmussen and Yelich produce this season, the ranking will go up. I don't want to get folks started on Skipworth, but I feel he's poised for a break through year. With a few players getting healthy and the continued development of Hand and a decent draft the Marlins could be moving up this list. As I recall the farm system was rated fairly high when Hermida and Olsen were the two best prospects so what does that tell you about rankings? I think it says a lot of what they think of Skipworth, that they signed John Buck to a 3 year deal. If they draft another catcher in the top 4 or 5 rounds I think it says they have given up on him. I think it says they feel he needs to produce this yeat at high-A and next year at AA and then who knows? But to say they don't think much of him still is ridiculous This is his 4th year......and still in High A ? To me I move on to the next guy, and chalk it up to a mistake.

  18. Gonna be interesting to see what Donnie Murphy does with an opportunity to get more playing time. I know everyone was racking up hits today but interesting to note both Murphy and Bonifacio had 2 hits each in the first game since Dominguez has been demoted. Lets hope its trending, because for right now, those are our boys at 3rd ! :thumbup
  19. Oh my god Stanton is beast. and he's all ours !!!!!!! :cool
  20. BOOM off Buch!! Yeah he should be pretty boring to watch this year. Saw yesterday on ESPN....they had their fantasy reviews and Stanton was called a "potential bust".......I hope he BUSTS out all over everyone's pitching ! :notworthy
  21. STANTON !!!!! NOW WITH A 2 RUN DINGER ! 6 RBI in this game !
  22. STANTON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 3 run homer !
  23. vazquez gettinh hit pretty hard yeah I think Vazquez is shaky for us at best. Another Hendrickson.
  24. Oh my god......I just recognised the voice. Its that old Braves homer.....God I hate him, and he's not too friendly to the Marlins.
