  1. Let me add that the night-time Miami skyline view is nothing short of stupendous. No other venue in any sport has anything like it. It will enter the visual universe of viewers every time any highlight of a Marlins game is shown. It's so striking and quite starkly amazing that it will indelibly mark this new ballpark in the mind of millions across the country as something totally unique. Loria, regardless of what anyone may think of him or the rest of the "art" in the park, has pulled off a total master-stroke. Maybe it was the architects or designers who came up with the idea. Doesn't matter. He signed off on it. I stand in awe. Plus, we're gonna have aquariums. Fish and whatnot. No one else has that behind home plate and no one else could get away with it. This place is gonna set a standard that will be very tough to beat. My question is will that skyline get complaints from players that it is distracting ? It may not last all that long. Those windows may be tinted by year 2.
  2. So far you'd have to say the Buck signing was pretty good. Not sure if it will last but he plays like this the 1st half of the season, he has a chance to make the All-Star team again.
  3. Has to be Buck.
  4. I really just want to see the teal kept because it's unique and it's part of marlins history. I remember those teal hats in the first year and loved them. I agree but that doesn't matter to Loria, he wants to get rid of it. Too bad he can't embrace our history. I heard on the radio that they won't even be a sign of either World's Championships. It was also said that originally Loria wanted to even change the Marlins name for something else, just as what happened in Washington, but MLB said that was too much. All of this is speculation I guess.
  5. A good barometer is winning games when you aren't playing the best. These are an indicator of a good team to me. But we did it against the Nats so that doesn't say much but we need to win games like last night. And yes, the upgrades and trades the team did seem to be working out so far. The lack of hits WRISP does bother me. That needs to change and fast as they go to Atlanta & Philly.
  6. Problems existed all over in the game. Like others have said it looked similar to what we have seen over the last couple years. Problems in the bull pen, again; (last night and today) errors abound from two of the same players who have done it year after year; no situational hitting; not working the counts. I know we are really in the beginning, but I'm putting this out there. (Don't kill me please :pray ) I'm not convinced our manager has enough experience. There is a lot of difference in managing a minor league team getting players ready for the big leagues and managing players in the big leagues and winning games. Now I'm not saying our manager lost the game for us; I'm just questioning whether this drivel/play is going to continue until we really have someone leading the helm. And I mean really leading, that is, managing, and knowing how to do it. Buck Showalter was available last year, and Loria didn't get him. Look at Baltimore and what they did under him last year and what they did this weekend.
  7. Vazquez still has not retired a batter.....YIKES
  8. Vazquez looks HORRIBLE....c'mon dude get your act together
  9. oh boy.......Cousins !
  10. Not looking good for the Lins right now
  11. Is this guy going to be another Hendrickson ? I have that feeling of deja vu.......
  12. Amazing, for a hated and despised team (especially by Bob Costas) we get 3 of the 20 games on the list. And all 3 are Marlins wins !!!! :thumbup
  13. Think of this, we'll never have 41,000 at a game after this year....... the most it will be is 37,000.
  14. That is a bad blow for Dominguez and our organization. I wonder if we go out and get someone now ?
  15. Great game, John Buck for FOTG and hooray to LoMo and his tribute HR for dad. WTG JJ !
  16. Yikes.......is there a program that forces that page to use bad grammar ? Unfortunately and I'd do them by hand but then I'd lose my mind. I just try and ignore the grammar. okay sorry but that was, BLING BLING BLING and it took away from reading it........sorry about that.
  17. Yikes.......is there a program that forces that page to use bad grammar ?
  18. I have extrainnings and I'm pretty sure the game will be blacked out. I never get any Marlins games especially if they're still being shown in SoFlo. Also, I think you'll be getting the Magics game (apparently in Orlando, Gville, and Jax we're all getting the Magics so I'm assuming since you're further up you'll also be getting it instead of the Fish). He might be able to get the Mets telecast being in Tally.
  19. Free preview of Extra Innings all week I believe. I can confirm this.....its actually until Apr 9th or 10th I believe.
  20. I thought the Rays were on SUNSports instead of FOX ?
  21. Here is a link to download and listen to it....... Logan Morrison interview on 3/31/2011 By far my favorite Marlin for now at least :lol This guy has to get his own radio show.....someone in town needs to get him on the air regularly.....he would be perfect for a weekly segment on a morning drive show. Is he already on one ?
  22. I laugh at the Mets rotation too - but that's thing, I don't think the Mets will be great I just don't think the Marlins will be either. Let's face it, both teams are playing for next year - when all the contracts come off the Mets books and the Marlins get their new stadium. The Mets aren't a factor, the Marlins aren't a factor - we should just all just hope for a rash of arm injuries in Philadelphia because no matter what, I think we can all agree that seeing the Phils miss the playoffs would be almost as good as either team making it. For me seeing the Braves miss is better. Even before the Uggla thing the Braves were my most hated team, even above the Yankees, Red Sox and Cubs.
  23. The Mets will suck, but not as bad as the Marlins and Nats. Jayson Werth will be a terrible signing, a Jason Bay bad contract The Mets offense will be decent, pitching staff could be good or really bad Marlins offense will struggle to tread water, pitching staff will have to carry them. Nats will plain suck, always do. The NL East will be like this: 1st: Phils 3rd: Braves 5th A: Mets 5th B: Marlins 5th C: Nats BS it is .......Marlins finish 6 or 7 games AT LEAST ahead of the Mets, and its possible that the Nats even finish ahead of the "Amazin's". The money woes in the Mets FO will figure to hold them down this year and possibly into next season.
  24. [/b]Is anyone worried about what Edwin had for dinner last night? You mean besides his wife late at night? (My wife flinches around St Paddy's day because I really load up on corned beef and cabbage.) Too much info??
  25. And another question. Dade charges to use their bridges/causeways. At least I know they do for the one going to Sea World (or whatever the name of that place is). Why don't they allow SunPass for those? Or maybe they do and I just didn't see the lane, but I sure was looking for one. The Miami Seaquarium, which pre-dates Sea World. The Seaquarium opened in 1955 and Sea World San Diego (their 1st park) in 1964. Another little tidbit from their Wikipedia......... From 1963 through 1967, 88 television episodes and two movies starring Flipper were filmed at Miami Seaquarium.
