Eddie Altamonte
First I have to comment is that all those that kept on saying CC in CF and Logan in LF was gonna be a defensive nightmare ...guess again...They have been playing their hearts out and showing some nifty playmaking with the leather. They both are still work in progress when it comes to style points but they are getting to everything going their way and making highlight films, Our pitchers have been happy to say the least... Taking me to my second point I am enjoying what I have been seeing pitching-wise so far I believe the BP is gonna be rock solid once all role are defined. There have been a few hiccups but that is to be expected This is a better team from last year and will get even better if they can avoid significan injuries

Iowa
If people think the sky is falling 3-4 games in.. well, I don't have a zinger to put here so just stop it.
Erick
The OF thing is a pleasant surprise.................so far. I, personally, was never worried about the bullpen. There might not be a great arm out there, but there are too many above average arms for it not to be good. Too much depth. It'll get even better. Edwin still hasn't had a matchup for Randy Choate yet, so we haven't really seen what he's capable of in a close game. Mike Dunn is the most exciting arm to me. It would be awesome if he lowers the walks; he'd actually be elite with improved control.
AeroFishOne
Dunn has turned out and dominated righties. Its nice having a lefty arm that can actually get a righty out. Yeah coghlan isnt anything special defensively but has made plenty of great catches this year and last. Bullpen will find there game once everyone settles in. Im ready for the bats to get going. TrustN61
A good barometer is winning games when you aren't playing the best. These are an indicator of a good team to me. But we did it against the Nats so that doesn't say much but we need to win games like last night. And yes, the upgrades and trades the team did seem to be working out so far. The lack of hits WRISP does bother me. That needs to change and fast as they go to Atlanta & Philly.

fishfan1958
Bonifacio also looked good in the first week of '09. Better be careful whay you say. Our Manager says he wants Bonifacio as an everyday player. On a positive note, nobody mentioned the AB by Giancarlo. He is showing a tremendous amount of plate discipline, which he lacked last season. I am confident once he is healthy and back in the lineup the dynamics will change. (mainly risp) for the better. And what about the Mets games? The Mets were thought to be the last team in the division, but they aren't playing like that now. So what team is a mirage?? The bullpen guys have had success elsewhere. Just look at the difference this year Choate/Dunn vs. Tankersley/Pinto/Ohmann. That ends any argument. Do you think McCann will step in to a Dunn pitch the way he stuck his shoulder in to that feather ball Tank threw him last year.
canefandynasty
Logan Morrison has looked great offensively and defensively. Coghlan has only looked great defensively, but I think his offense will pick up. I'm really disappointed in Hanley right now on both sides of the ball. He's always swinging at garbage. He needs to be more relaxed and let the game come to him. Infante hasn't been good offensively, but has looked stellar defensively. Gaby has been raking. I really like his bat right now. He should be batting fourth till Stanton comes back. Buck is what he is: will give you great and lousy games. His calling games has been good for the most part though. SP overall has been good, but nothing special. RP has had some rough outings this past week, but I'm still confident with the bullpen. SixYearItch
35% of the runs the Marlins have given up so far have been unearned.....what an amazing stat for a team with a 4-3 record
Admin
I don't think anyone every acted like the sky was falling. There was a legitimate concern that putting Coghlan in CF with Morrison in LF would do little to improve an already poor defensive team. Having said that, I do think that Coghlan has the potential to be a neutral CF but it's too early to tell.
