gizmo
Ugly loss. Time to move on and hope Stanton is ready Tuesday
-Miami Fan-
I hope that Javier can rebound, he performed pretty poorly today and our defense was back to its old self. Plenty of hits, just not timely.
Erick
The bullpen didn't give up an earned run today; Yay?
I Love Me Some Fish
5 walks isn't Javy
97marlin
well its obvious we need a good start from our pitcher to win games, even with stanton we don't have the fire power to come back 5.
Beetle
Terrible game, no doubt. Except for Brian Sanches – the one positive today; worthy of mention at least.
canada-marlin24
i guess we are already racking up those could have or should have won games. of course barring 5 unearned runs and not walking the leadoff batter in the 9th inning.
Dr Beinfest
Oh do I feel stupid, it's 4/3 and I wrote 4/4 hurr durr.
CyggyMarlin
Please take the Nats series, when the season starts out against 2 teams that are projected to finish behind you, you need to jump out of the gate strong
dom2613
Like some one else said yesterday, our lineup looks pretty week without big Mike.
Dr Beinfest
Like some one else said yesterday, our lineup looks pretty week without big Mike. I think today's problem was getting out 0-7 to start the game. I blame the defense with the two costly early errors more than anything. canada-marlin24
well the phillies took care of business and after we played a solid first game we handed the mets the game yesterday. give them some credit today but it should have been a much closer and potentially different game. not the way to start the year. complete nosedive from friday night. I missed most of the game, caught the 8th and 9th on the radio so I just looked at the lineup and thought it looked weak.

AeroFishOne
It seems like a player one do two bad things for every one good thing they did. Couldnt get nothing going with out chances.. Im not liking how we are starting the season with Runners in Scoring Position. Yeah its 3 games but its not a new problem.
Fishes on the Pond
Problems existed all over in the game. Like others have said it looked similar to what we have seen over the last couple years. Problems in the bull pen, again; (last night and today) errors abound from two of the same players who have done it year after year; no situational hitting; not working the counts. I know we are really in the beginning, but I'm putting this out there. (Don't kill me please :pray ) I'm not convinced our manager has enough experience. There is a lot of difference in managing a minor league team getting players ready for the big leagues and managing players in the big leagues and winning games. Now I'm not saying our manager lost the game for us; I'm just questioning whether this drivel/play is going to continue until we really have someone leading the helm. And I mean really leading, that is, managing, and knowing how to do it.

Dr Beinfest
The bullpen was phenomenal today. Yeah, Choate gave up some runs. Not his fault though, he was thrown out against like 4 righties.
popeyethesailor
Vasquez should'nt feel to bad crap happens. Although Max Scherzer today gave up 6 ER and 4 home runs and still got the WIN! What a joke. Vasquez should bounce back next start.

Look at Baltimore and what they did under him last year and what they did this weekend.
miamibaseball
i hope Vasquez dont pitch like he did nyy or this could have been bad choice by marlins getting him. i know still early let see how recovery from this game
bobbob1313
Even if he pitches poorly, it was well worth the gamble for the Marlins.

Anonymous
Who ever is worried about the Marlins should take a look at the Red Sox. They're 0-3 and they're star FA signing, Crawford, has been horrible.
