Autographs

Featured Replies

I know a lot of you have gone to spring training games this year, and spring training is a great time to get autographs. I've never been too big on autographs, but I told myself I was going to make an effort to get some autographs yesterday, and boy am I glad I did. The guys I got to sign for me were: Mike Mordecai, Damion Easley, Trader Jack, Abraham Nunez, Hee Sop Choi, and Miguel Cabrera.

I'm interested to hear about some of the marlins autographs you have gotten this spring.

During spring workouts I got: Trevor Hutchinson, Jack, Brad Penny, Ramon Castro, Carl Pavano, Tim Spooneybarger, Kevin Hooper, Armando Rios, Darren Oliver, Mike Lowell, Mike Mordecai, Bill Robinson, Toby Borland, Chad Fox

Friday's game, I left during the sixth inning to catch the player leaving early by the clubhouse. Dontrelle was the first one out...signed a card for me, Conine signed... as well as Pavano, Castillo, Sea Bass, Tejera and Tony Perez

I'm gonna try to catch the game on the 27th in ft. lauderdale, by far the best stadium in the grapefruit league to get auto's in

I'm gonna go up to Vero Beach on March 29th (I think that's the date it's a monday) to see the fish play the Dodgers, that'll be my last chance to get some more autographs. Hopefully more of the starters will be there.

In spring training i got alot of autographs.

Orioles: Jay Gibbons (4 Cards), Travis Driskill, David Segui (2 Cards), Rodrigo Lopez, Jeff Conine (3 Cards), marty cordova, Brook Fordyce, B.J Surhoff, Chris Richards, Melvin Mora, Scott Erickson, and Omar Daal.

Mets: Cliff Floyd (8 Cards), Tom Glavine (2 Cards), Timo Perez, Jeromy Burnitz, David Cone, Graeme Lloyd (2),

Cardinals: Albert Pujos (2 Cards), Jim Edmonds (3 Cards), Chris Carpenter, So Taguchi, Woody Williams (5), Rick Ankiel, Dan Haren, Matt Morris (3 Cards).

All that in one season.

And i got all of the marlin players....

Marlins Caravan: Brad Penny, Brian Bnaks, Wayne Rosenthal, Michael Tejera, Spooney

Spring Training: Mordecai

Hey LCastillo at the Ft. Lauderdale staidum the Marlins are on the third base side right? I want to head up there on the 27th to get autographs.

yep

It really is worth the trip from anywhere, the visitors parking lot is so accesible to get autographs. They put security at the O's parking lot but none whatsoever at the visitors lot. People just wander in there to look at all the players rides and get auto's, pretty cool :thumbup

I'll be going to Marlins and Tampa Bay spring training games shortly, as well as Minnesota ones. Hopefully I'll have some success there.

I went to yesterdays(Sat) game in Viera and didn't do as well as I've done in previous spring trainings. My son got Choi, Mordy, Nunez, Easley, Trader Jack, Teanor and I couldn't tell you who? I'm pretty good about reading autographs and this one has me stumped. I was on the other side of the stadium and I got Livan, when he got the anonymous autograph. The team didn't sign very well, at least compared to previous teams. Even the kids avoided the stands, players like Wathan and Jorgensen. This was before the game and we left shortly after the game ended for our 2 1/2 hour drive back home so I don't know how well they signed afterwards.

Thanks for your help guys, how early should I arrive to get autographs?

As soon as the gates open to the stadium, if not sooner so you can catch the players going into the parking lot (about 3-4 hours before game time during ST)

The guys I got to sign for me were: Trader Jack, Hee Sop Choi, and Miguel Cabrera.

I'm green with envy.

I got Cabrera to come over and sign a baseball for me last September at the Vet (may it R.I.P.) during the big Wild Card push...Even though it sits between my Willie Mays and Reggie Jackson autographs, it's now among my top-most prized possessions because of what that Kid did last year...

Tell those guys to sign for all the Marlins fans at the away stadiums too once the season starts... :mischief

Marlins always sign a lot in Philly...you're lucky to see one Phillie hang around firstbase side and sign...I used to average at least 4 or 5 Marlins autographs a game in Philly, those guys are usually very good about it...

Unfortunately it'll be until June at the earliest that I see the defending champs in Philly...Not going to the early games in the Phils new stadium, it's gonna be a circus (or a zoo) the first month or so and Im not gonna go near that...Plus it'll be awhile for all those rats who scampered out before the Vet implosion this morning to find new homes....

Before the game Mordy, Easley and Jack were signing. After the game I waited by the bus, and got Choi, Cabrera, and Nunez.

As soon as the gates open to the stadium, if not sooner so you can catch the players going into the parking lot (about 3-4 hours before game time during ST) Yeah go earlier, before the gates open. The players will start coming into the parking lot and stop to sign but mostly after the games they will stop and sign.

In the season, if the game is at 7:00 PM, go around noon and the marlins and the other team will start coming in also.

What would be a good time to get there? We're planning on leaving at around 3pm to arrive around 4. Should we get there earlier or are we okay?

If you go at that time, you'll be fine...especially since it's a 7:05 start....

at. ft. laudy, if you can get in by the left field bleachers or that little entrance by third base, it'll be the best place to get autographs

I went to today's game in Vero beach and got Wil Cordero and Dontrelle's autographs. I also got Mordy, Damion Easley, and Miguel's autograph for the 2nd time. It was pretty funny we were waiting by the bus and Dontrelle kinda turned around and acted like he wasn't going to sign autographs just to get a rise out of us, but then he came over and I'm telling you there must have been more than 50 people over there and he signed for every single one of them.

It kinda sucks though that they don't send a lot of the regulars to away games though. Both games I've been to most of the starting lineup wasn't there. Oh well I still had a great time, I love spring training baseball.

I got Brad Penny to sign for me. We also met AJ and Josh but weren't able to get autographs. But that's okay. At least I got to meet them which is awesome in my book. :thumbup

I only have Jack Mckeon's and that was cause he came to Elon and was a guest speaker shortly after the world series since he did graduate from here...Ill be making a trip down to Florida for the WHite Sox series later this year...hopefully can get some there

I went Saturday night to the Marlins vs Orioles.... Juan Pierre was playing peek-a-boo with the fans that were across from the little umpires room that the players went into since it was raining. The fans wanted JP to come out and sign for them and chanted Juan Pi-erre over and over. He would open and close the door and they would start the chant up again. Finally after the rain died down, he came out and signed about 200 autographs there, and I was across from him right by the corner of the stands where the duggout is. After signing 200, he came over to my area and signed about 15-20. I got him on my JP/Dontrelle World Series Trophy photo, it looks sweet. Now I just need DTrain on it and its complete. Hopefully I can get him at opening day (4th row in sec. 142). I also got Alex Gonzalez and Mordecai on the team championship photo, but got them during the rain and it kinda of messed up the photo, but as long as I got JP, I was happy.
