April 21, 200422 yr 'trelle didn't get a hit!!!!! seriously, that's a great game, but u gotta worry about cabs' fielding, definitely needs some work, just don't want him to pllan AROD
April 21, 200422 yr methinks he'll be okay. kid's only 21 remember... as long as he doesn't make these blunders in big spots like that. nice to see him get a big RBI to make up for it though.
April 21, 200422 yr Willis who I felt would be the biggest question mark in the lineup....seems to have gotten over his troubles late last year. He continues to be damn good. Our pen continues to pitch well....to those who said Foxy wasnt that great...they were wrong. maybe tonight will be the night that gets the top of the order clicking. Overall a good night. You wont score tons of runs every night. But scoring 3 every night should at the very least keep you in games. now to the bad. tonight the defense was bad. Steve....err i mean jeff is still slumping...hopefully he can bounce out of it soon in whatever manner needs to be done. And now to my thought of the night...... Move Cabs out of right field. Every time I watch him he takes bad routes to balls or whatever. left field is by far the easiest position to learn in the outfield. put conine in right and move cabs back to left where his defensive shortcomings can be overlooked. Thats all and good night.
April 21, 200422 yr I agree with your there. Conine in right. He has more experience and can probably adjust to right field fairly easy
April 21, 200422 yr I dont see Conine coming out of this anytime soon. He is pressing too hard and swinging at bad pitches. I agree that Cabs looks shaky at times in RF, but this kid is too good of an athlete to not get better at that position. Wearing shades, as stupid and obvious as that sounds, will help him. Willis has looked tremendous out there. I never saw his second half as a problem last year - especially when you look at his Sept. numbers down the stretch. He is the real deal. Benitez looks very good too. I wasnt thrilled about him at first, but I know he has the ability. Being on this team in this environment has helped him and I think he will rise to be one of the best relievers in the game this year. That little thing he does with Choi at the end of games is delightful and indicative of the chemistry - the magic - that this team possesses.
April 21, 200422 yr I think that if AGON slumps for too much of the season, they should call up Wilson Valdez to spell him on occasion.
April 21, 200422 yr Easley and even Mordecai would be given a shot before Valdez would at this point.
April 21, 200422 yr I still think that Conine needs to work out his problems while playing not sitting on the bench. I also think that our bullpen is proving every doubter wrong, I remeber all the "experts" saying how this was going to cost us games, well so far even though its early they have done nothing but help us win games and keeping it close in the late innings. Hopefully they can endure a long season and we can still see these impressive numbers in September and October.
April 21, 200422 yr arent you supposed to have the better arm in RF? anyway I like Cabs in right and I hope he stays there..... so he's had a rough couple of games, I dont remember him being this shaky before and let's remember another thing, this is still a relatively new position to him I think he needs to stay in RF
April 21, 200422 yr Making Redmond tag from third to home in the 7th if I'm not mistaken was a stupid mistakes...the bases were loaded and Castillo would've batted. Just thought the play was dumb... In other news..hehe...there were several Marlins fans in Philly tonight. Citizens Bank Park rocks...it's really nice, people! CAn't wait to see our own park in 2007!

April 21, 200422 yr I know what you are saying Das, but besides the past few games he has looked good out there, for the most part.... maybe we should move him to 3B and bench Lowell..... im surprised that hasnt been thought of yet by the geniuses of this board
April 21, 200422 yr yes for hte most part.... he has made the routine plays pretty much save for hte last couple of games. its the plays where hte ball rolls into the corner or down the line that he especially looks bad.
April 21, 200422 yr Conine has played "some" RF over the years including in Baltimore. His time playing there has been minimal to be sure but a solution may be to swap to the two corner outfielders. To me, I don't think I've ever seen the Kid look comfortable out in right. Not in spring training and not during our season opening homestand.
April 21, 200422 yr There are more righthanded batters in the league that are prone to hit to leftfield than lefthanders who hit to rightfield, so I would think leftfield would be a more difficult position to master. Especially in Pro Player with the Teal Monster. Conine in left. Sunglasses and more training for Cabs in right.
April 21, 200422 yr To me, I don't think I've ever seen the Kid look comfortable out in right. Not in spring training and not during our season opening homestand. True, but that kid has gotten adjusted to every position that they have put him in. It may take a little longer in RF than it did at LF or 3rd base, but I see him being a great right fielder one day.
