June 20, 200422 yr Jonnylyons hit it right on the head With Pierre or Castillo on base there is a huge hole on the right side....and I can remember Pudge hitting right through that hole many times last year.... Conine goes the other way and does make contact..... I was afraid to mention his name because I know how much everyone hates him

Keep the prospects and the money, and maximize what you have. Unless you are going to make a SIGNIFICANT UPGRADE, I dont see any incentive to make a deal. Thank God our FO is thinking the same thing. What are you basing that on? Catalanotto has outperformed Conine for the past 5 years.

Thinking the same thing? How the hell would you know that? They've been in the whole Carlos Beltran Sweepstakes and JP and Cabrera aren't riding the pine, that's for sure. Conine is hurting the team. PERIOD. HE SUCKS WITH RISP. And please, PLEASE stop this whole 3 spot garbage. Mike Lowell and Cabrera are both hitting around .300 and way better with RISP. They have more power and more RBI's. Len and Tommy have said that his shoulder is bothering him and has had an impact on his swing and that it'll be sore for the whole damn season. Wait until July, and if he still completely sucks, sit him down, trade, or put him on the DL.

June 20, 200422 yr Also, speaking of Finley. This being the last year of his contract he can do something similar to what Sidney Ponson did last year. The Diamondbacks can trade him to get prospects, and then he can sign a contract with D-Backs in the offseason to come back. All players want to play on winning teams, and I'm sure if he can help out the D-Backs and still be able to play for them next year I'm sure he would do it. That is if he even plays next year.
