August 11, 200422 yr What the Hell is wrong with Lowell ? We can't afford to have our number 4 hitter slumping so bad ! We need to do something ... move him down in the lineup .....sit him a couple games in a row...something.....he is just killing us....How can we go on a run with our clean up hitter 3 for his last 33 ? Damn it is true he slumps horribly in the second half.
August 11, 200422 yr not the first time he's gone into a slump unfortunately.... one always seems to kick in during the 2nd half at some point.
August 11, 200422 yr mike lowell needs to buy a hit-a-way... :plain 505604 :lol It's sad...but true. It's like he forgot how to bat or something. But there's an easy solution, and that is to switch him up with Cabs. Why doesn't Jack see this???
August 11, 200422 yr he'll break out of it 505615 and soon. 505617 too late, too damned late... and when he breaks out, who will enter their slump, as that has been the marlins season thus far.
August 11, 200422 yr Anir300 is right, I also think switchin the two would be best. Plus it helps even more now since cabrera's batting has been on fire since the all-star break....thank god cuz he was kinda in a slump for a while.
August 11, 200422 yr With where we are in the standings, we can't afford a slump by our #4 hitter, period. Cabrera is a much better #4 hitter, and has been steady all season long, so I have questioned since we acquired LoDuca why Cabrera hasn't been in the 4th spot. With Lowell slumping so poorly, it also amazes me why McKeon is so slow to move him down in the line up. How many times in the past week has Mike killed a rally, only to have Cabrera start off the next inning with a hit?
August 11, 200422 yr and to be honest, the lineup was working well with lowell infront of cabs, even with his slump... look back at the first two games against milwaukee and that last game against the dbacks.. it was working. but yes, now it is time for a switch, even though our backs are pressed firmly against the wall, ready to fall off the edge completely with the next loss....

August 11, 200422 yr Lowell needs to stay in the lineup. 505642 Yes, he just needs to hit behind Cabrera
August 11, 200422 yr Switch Cabs and Lowell. 505600 About time someone listens to me! I been saying this since Lo Duca arrived.
August 11, 200422 yr mike lowell needs to buy a hit-a-way... :plain 505604 I actually own one, it's the greatest thing ever lol.

I do it the old fashion way. I throw rocks in the air and hit them out of my backyard. Once I hit a rotten mango and it splatted on the neighbours window. And then I ran..... :peepwall
August 11, 200422 yr I feel so bad for Mike! Come on Mikey Flikey you can do it! :arms :balloons :invasion :jump :rock :marlins
August 11, 200422 yr I'd play Easley for a while. 505633 lol are you joking? There goes the offense and defense.
August 11, 200422 yr Yeah lets bench the team leader, and arguably the best player on the team :plain
August 11, 200422 yr This is not a time for tinkering. You go with your best, you let them support each other. They sink or swim together. They need to know they are responsible and the Bench is for injuries and special situations. Tinkering time is over. It's down and dirty now and get the job done.
